Coming from an era when nobody had phones, basically everyone got bullied anyway.

And what was the result? Did that work?

It's crazy that they allowed the demo app creds to do that.

So if someone you love tells you if you want to have good job prospects you shouldn't get a face tattoo, it's okay to get angry at them right away because they hurt your feelings?

I think the point here is people get angry at stuff all the time that they shouldn't be angry at. Helpful advice, someone pulling in front of them in traffic, online comments disagreeing with them, etc. it's good to make sure you understand why you're angry, or else you're just blind.

A lot of people might be angry about the face tattoo comment, and leave it at "the other person is being mean / closed minded", then proceed to go and get one, then continue to be angry the rest of their lives when they can't get a job.

Reflecting on things in general, especially emotion, means you grow. It's self education.

Because both industries use such horrible, outdated software and are riddled with so much bureaucracy that no good programmer would want to work there.

This is the opposite of reality. They make it extremely clear that it's beta and you need to always keep your eyes on the road in case you need to take over, and that you should take over if you feel you need to.

Wouldn't that mean we could wipe blueberries with a towel and it would come off on the towel and wouldn't be blue anymore? Maybe I should try and see.

Does it actually say that somewhere? So far what I've read just saying the color isn't from pigment.

Reset the schedule for shares they already granted you? Or for future grants?

IMO one thing I think should be made into law is that if a company grants unvested equity, everything granted will automatically vest when you get laid off.

If you decide to quit before they vest, I understand that those grants should be forfeited. If you get fired for not doing your job, I also get forfeiting them.

But if the company lays you off, that's on their side, so I think the opposite (automatic vesting) should be guaranteed by law.

Why not Lemmy / Mastodon / etc.? IDK if we need "dark web". We just need to decentralize.

Seriously, there was a time when Google was lauded for all kinds of awesome innovation, and joked about that you needed a PhD to even be a janitor there.

Look at them now. They can't even do basic search functionality anymore, and are so misguided that they put out color filters for video.

I 100% agree they need to just stop existing at this point.

Vermont can outlaw billboards across the state, but when it comes to everything digital, it seems like nothing's safe. We cannot even check out email on a dedicated email client application without being subjected to ads, both in the form of spam emails, marketing lists, and now even ads from the program itself.

IMO the government should be stepping in to regulate where ads can be placed, just like Vermont did with billboards.

I'm sure they do, but I issue is they already were / should have been making a profit on the existing, bottom tier ad free plan. Now it's just price gouging by adding ads to existing tier instead of adding new cheaper tier with ads.

The alternative is either:

1. Don't watch the show / movie you wanted to - unacceptable sacrifice for a lot of people.
2. Break the law / pirate - some people really dislike this, or else are scared, or are not technically savvy enough to know how to or that it's even an option.
3. Sometimes it's too much trouble, like if you pirate a show you need to get subtitles in your own language and hope the times line up.

I agree it's unacceptable for me, but I also get why so many people just put up with it.

It's a GPU. It's just integrated with the CPU, so you don't need a dedicated graphics card.
