France has adopted laicite for years and frankly it's the right thing for secularism. It doesn't stop people worshiping whoever or whatever they like in their spare time, or wearing whatever religious garb they want. But not on government property including state schools.

Nor should it be hard to understand that power companies are not stupid and already have a roadmap for renewables (solar, hydro, wind etc.), energy storage, EV charging facilities and other 21st century concerns. They are not blindsided by this change and are looking forward to it.

The US has protectionist rules about EV grants - car must be assembled in the US to receive tax credits. It's why Teslas sold in the US are assembled in the US whereas Teslas sold in Canada are made in China. There are some comments that the Chinese manufactured cars are actually better quality. It probably also explains why Chinese brands like BYD are focussing more on other markets like Europe.

I wonder from a cost benefit analysis if even its even worth the effort. If someone is playing a game under emulation then most likely they never had the intention of buying the game. So what's the point of using anti-emulation checks? It's just an additional cost (and drag on development / testing) that doesn't translate into extra sales.

Ukraine has had a far right problem but lots of countries do. Doesn't mean it's more than the fringe as it is in other countries and it's CERTAINLY not a credible talking point or justification for war to invade a sovereign democracy. And the stupid part is that this shit still goes onto today, even to this comment where you attempt to justify it.

I think most people of the left or right can see the situation for what it is. However Russia is obviously crafting messages to appeal to those on the extremes. When you see people on the hard left screeching about Ukrainian Nazis or advancing absurd peace deals then they've been gotten at. When you see people from the hard right screeching about Ukrainian immigrants or the cost of the war vs America / Europe first then you know they've been gotten at.

As for Prigozhin, I think most people, even Russians are glad that he is dead but for different reasons. Seems clear that Putin murdered him for his disloyalty but nobody in Ukraine is going to mourn his loss for the spent force that is Wagner.

I'm fully expecting Russian media to explain how those evil Ukranians sneaked a missile battery or a fighter jet into Moscow airspace and shot down a plane that just happened to contained Putin's mortal enemies.

Federal institutions have a national menu that they're meant to provide. I've linked to it elsewhere and if inmates don't receive it then there are avenues to complain through. And to be clear I'm sure even in the best of circumstances the food still sucks, but there is a menu and there is choice. It is also VERY clearly spelt out in the MDC Brooklyn inmate's handbook on page 13 what the food is and an inmate's options regarding it and any religious / dietician exemptions.

IMO this is SBF being a precious entitled asshole in prison thinking he's above the conditions that everyone else in there is subject to. "Oh look at poor me I have to eat bread water and peanut butter". Meanwhile reality says he's lying. This is merely the latest incident of him attempting to control the narrative. He can't tamper with witness so he's holding a pity party and we're supposed to care.
