  • Without thinking or reading to the last paragraph of this article, I went and started a dist-upgrade on my pi.

Curious now to see if it still boots after it's finished.

    Edit: Oops

  • Sorry maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I'm sure you meant well, and I didn't mean that the speech itself is problematic, but contextually a closeted racist could have already decided that they hate Kinew and are using the speech as a loaded gun for the first moment he makes a mistake.

"Kinew has some kind of minor scandal? Well then I hate him because he has poor character, not because of the colour of his skin. You see, I am not a racist."

  • AI generated photographs, or I guess AI generated images that are trying to appear photoreal are usually pretty easy to spot.

The stylized artistic ones are often really hard because you could have a human work of art that is trying to purposefully mimic an AI generator, which looks like the case with Strawberry Taiyaki Cat

  • The wording is problematic, isn't it. Either they are dreaming of a united utopia of humanity where racism is forgotten, or they are an enlightened centrist just looking for any crack they can open to insert scathing criticism, "but I'm not a racist."

  • But, basically… use the right tool for the job

Yup. I mainly use tiling for most of my windows including terminal, but when I need to be more productive like when working in Darktable it's easier to move to another workspace and have it fill the screen.

  • Preface: My primary method of transport is by bike if I can help it. I hate cars and everything they represent.

When I get behind the wheel of a car, it's like something in my brain flips and I notice my behaviour changes. I become more annoyed, aggravated, and impatient. I don't know what it is, but something about being surrounded by a steel cage that can explode up to 100km/h at a moment's notice makes you feel invincible.

A large part of the problem comes from the design of the road. To accommodate as many cars as possible the road is built to be gigantic, and when you're driving a car this makes you feel like you're safe to maneuver even at the expense of everybody else.

I think if we started designing cities properly, focusing first on pedestrians then bikes then buses etc, we'd end up with an urban environment where motorists do not feel as comfortable throwing their ego around and so will quiet down and behave.
