1. I definitely saw a lot of people from ml who were saying stuff like that when trump started talking to Israel in the first week or so of his presidency. They're not representative of all of .ml, but they were quite a vocal minority

I have to recommend Ascent DX - it is free, quite short, but it condenses everything I enjoy about the metroidvania genre I to a bite sized play session.

Tunic is one of the best games ever made, nevermind just in the metroidvania genre. It is good for reasons I can't tell you without spoiling some of the magic. Trust me!

Phoenotopia Awakening was stupendous fun and way bigger than I thought it would be. Strongly recommended. Typical side scrolling platforming gameplay, with emphasis on exploration and puzzles as well as the combat and platforming.

Death's Door was so damn fun, and it felt quite fresh in a way I can't describe. Its an isometric hack n slash game with some puzzle elements. Tells a cool story, and is a sequel/successor to Titan Souls, from the same devs.

AAAAXY was a lot of fun, and free and open source. Sort of like antichamber meets metroidvania. Short and sweet but also challenging!

Eh, some people miss the initial news cycle on things. I can't speak to why old articles are being shared, but as for the people engaging with them, I think thats totally normal.

Oh, for sure. It depends what you need it for. A lot of people just want a pi for something like a pihole or a stats dashboard of some kind (that's my use case, anyway). You get what you pay for and sometimes you've gotta pay for what you wanna get.

The people in this thread acting like you need to be tuned in to everything all the time with no filter baffle me. You can block all politics on Lemmy and get your political news elsewhere. People are more than entitled to cultivate the spaces they inhabit and use.

Not super familiar with the gpio side of things, and I also haven't dug that deep into the space lately since I already own my rpi and it works for me so take all this with a pinch of salt, but I found some options that seem reasonable
