Could some of them also be on weird schedules? There maybe some who do lie in wait at their windows, but someone running similar errands to your own would chance upon those openings too, at times.
See also: mushrooms, cheese, onions & garlic. Fried pieces of whatever cured pork is to hand, especially if you're having an egg in it. Flakes of smoked fish also work well alone or with egg - fling in some chives & chillies for zing & colour.
Tbh though, a bit of salt was the traditional Scottish way of having oatmeal, with black pepper making an appearance once spices became widely available.
Curious thing is, if you hang out in conservative online spaces where they retain some belief that they retain anonymity, once they start talking amongst themselves (instead of hyping themselves up on talking points shoved their way from think tanks) they express strong desires for reforms which, unbeknownst to them, are well in line with Marxist thought.
That doesn't mean they suddenly lose all of their horrible views about many other things, just that the working-class conservative is perhaps wholly out of reach than we imagine?
And, notably, when they're expressing grief that society is so dystopian, they often state that they'd basically be fine with everyone they currently hate, and happy for everyone to do their own thing, were society to be radically reformed.
I don't think that means they can be brought around to becoming allies in meaningful numbers, and as a group they remain dangerous, but it suggests they do experience profound unease with the trajectory of their own conservatism, and that in turn may offer clues as to why they cling so wildly to being the footsoldiers of oppression.
Probably because having Asian heritage does not make one immune from being racist? Certainly there are various Asian supremacist movements within Asia.
Within the US, it is still just a matter of desiring a race-based hierarchy - they sure as hell don't want equality, nor to be at the bottom along with everyone White Nationalists seek to oppress, so though they know that as a minority they won't ever be at the top of such a hierarchy, they hope to end up in second place.
Think a guideline which encourages this might work better. Otherwise probably wise to avoid going as far as making it a bald requirement, but allowing imprecise indications i.e "[if you like X piece/artist/genre you might like this]" or even something as vague as a description of the vibe.
A lot of people know little to nothing about genres, and there is plenty of music whose genre is hotly debated.
Can't boycott what I never intended using, but there are some fun bets people could take...
How long until it offers nothing but acres of tawdry political slogan t-shirts & junk quality trinkets aimed at people who want other people to think they are preppers/badass?
How long until it is caught selling snake oils that are found to be hazardous?
How long until some child dies because the site sold their parent bleach or borax as "medicine" to be taken internally?
How long until they're hacked into oblivion because they were too cheap to pay for some basic security measures?
How long until it is revealed to be an especially clumsy attempt at fraud or money laundering?
To me this sounds like the preparation you do during the week maybe is a bit tiring or boring or both, so that even if you like the food you cook, the process is a chore. I'd include grocery shopping in "the process".
If true, then you are amazing to keep on top of everything during the week, but it may provide some clues for arranging your weekend food into something you're happier with.
Maybe you need simpler, faster recipes for the weekdays so you're less fed up with cooking by the weekend? Maybe you need things which are more fun to cook, or which have more pleasurable sensory aspects, both in the preparation and in the eating? Maybe you could make some extra food during the week, that you can reheat or just turf onto a plate at the weekends?
Is it possible you are too strict during the week? Or that you're not really getting enough calories over the week? What happens if you are more relaxed about how healthy your weekday meals are? What happens if you have small amounts of junky stuff during the week?
Think the writer may be Czech, and it indicates that the article was translated.
But at least some of the books mentioned have been translated into English, and some of the authors are known in the Anglosphere, so a non-Czech speaker could develop familiarity that way & then go on to learn more.
Yeah, like ostensibly there are alternatives to 2FA which do not rely on a phone, but they're not nearly so easy to set up, and there's potential for a lot of woe stemming from user error, even if your work stuff facilitates them. They're apparently more secure though, so maybe you can persuade your work to go offer the option on that basis?
My bank is inaccessible without a smartphone & there aren't alternatives I can move to, so until that changes am stuck with having one. Often consider getting a dumb phone for everything else I use a phone for (texts, alarm clock & ability to make emergency calls).
But as things stand I barely have enough use of any phone to warrant having two of the damn things.
Left wing person who defends authoritarian regimes.
The term comes from when the Soviet Union rolled tanks into Budapest in 1956 to crush the Hungarian revolution, which aimed to end bureaucratic despotism and place power with the workers. Many Western communists were horrified by the slaughter, but some supported what happened & continued to back the USSR.
Today "tankies" tends to refer to people who support China & Russia, and sometimes even North Korea & Iran, often because they take the view that anti-Western == good, ignoring that these are highly oppressive, exploitative regimes which have nothing in common with typical left wing values.
Some are just naïve about the reality of these governments, others just think of it as an "enemy of my enemy" utility against neoliberalism & Western imperialism, but some seem attracted by the idea of being authoritarian themselves or believe that a left wing future can only be achieved & maintained through authoritarianism.
Online, it is probable that some tankies are working for China or Russia and that others are working for Western organisations seeking to disrupt & discredit left wing movements. Others have just been persuaded by tankie arguments.
As a caveat: sometimes "tankie" is used to describe left wingers who aren't like those described above, but who prefer the idea of imposing socialist reforms through force with a vanguard party at the helm, over achieving reform through anarchist organising without hierarchical enforcement.
Don't feel it is a conspiracy as such, in that I don't think it is coordinated between different social media companies, but it is true that damaging the ability to inform very large numbers of people about what's going on is incredibly useful to right-wing interests.
So though there's still a lot of organising & educating online, now people need to seek out information to find it - they're far less likely to accidentally stumble upon it whilst learning about their hobbies, following a band they're into, or seeking advice for some personal situation.
In the absence of robust networks for persuading people to back right-wing ideas, disrupting everything else is the next best thing.
But, I also suspect that many of these companies have not been as profitable as anticipated, that there aren't good ways to make them so, and that they cannot see how to remain functional in the face of imminent developments, so they're wildly scrambling to wring out some profit, slash costs, and flog off infrastructure before the whole thing comes crashing down & they're left holding useless, expensive messes.
All the best. Try to relax & be an observer to it all if you can. Somehow skipped a formal assessment myself as so many records were passed over to the doctor who Dx'd me, in addition to many regular visits, but they're a doll, and am very sure they're ADHD also, just with support from earlier on.
Remember, the depression & anxiety may stem from trying to live with ADHD, or be separate things.

If you're on Beehaw via browser, you can pull up any communities you've blocked by going to Settings, where there is a "Blocked" tab up at the top. You can undo any blocks in there.
