First time I heard of asthma, it was the kid brother of my friend and he had to go to hospital a lot but that was back in the early 80s. Then I went to a new school and seemingly everyone had asthma, so I imagined they'd all be having emergencies.
Accidentally landed on your profile when trying to reply & happy to see that Violent Femmes quote :)
Safe home. As for Hallowe'en, think you've had the scariest of all time!
No clue what you're into, and the links in the "reading" folder of my bookmarks are all dead, but grabbed links to a few collections of long articles. Haven't vetted them myself.
Are we waving our hands in the air like we don't care? Typing on the phone during an arduous crap? Fidgety? On your honkers? Sitting mostly bit up & about for snacks or to pee or whatever?
Y'all's one thing, (and fun aside, my local English has a solid equivalent), but y'all y'all has got my heart (& whatever else the Anglos are making socks out of of lately to the north east of y'all).
Should be upstairs getting ready for bed, and finding an assortment of long form interesting articles for a friend, but just had some... spooky news so am flapping online at people & trying to settle.
Will move to bed shortly, but imagine I'll be restless so may be around to chat for a bit.
If any of y'all y'all who are reading have good non-paywalles longform articles, fling links this way. Any topic. No, not Texan, am European but it is fun to say!
Stumbled upon an early Dia Los Muertos thing in the garden of the Mexican Embassy here last night, which was open to the public. Very sweet & uplifting. May have to swing by again today as it is probably running all weekend.
Then met up with an ex to see about obtaining a exhibition space for a local arts charity, and so far it looks like that'll pan out well.
Other than that, general chaos surrounding potential romantic relationships. Only option is to be very open with all concerned, but there's still a lot of scope for messiness.
Party tonight... has been a while since I've done that!
Have noticed a lot of people get addicted to diet soda relative to soda generally. Maybe it is just the caffeine, but most sodas have a lot of that.
Could you try swapping out one soda a day for a fizzy water? Maybe one for a coffee or a tea as well?
Food is harder to acquire new habits with, especially if you have to travel. I think that noticing what textures & flavours you reach for can help to figure out what to have instead, and identifying the pattern of cravings can help suggest methods to get ahead of them.
Willpower tends not to work so great for anyone, and less so for those of us with ADHD, but discovering satisfying alternatives can be useful.
That said, am a bit all or nothing myself when it comes to changing habits, as if a stricter boundary requires less thinking?
If it were me, I'd use that browser solely for FB. Firefox allows one to have multiple instances. Harden it as much as you can whilst still able to use the bits of FB you're interested in.
Be quite amusing if we could poison their well by persuading a great many people to send in samples from other life forms.
Probably easier, cheaper & faster to make their data unusable via other means though.
