  • Ah, you got me on the nostrils. Alright..

My point was that the discussion is silly/ absurd/ meaningless. Yet here I am... Caught in it.

So... Ears. Those have a membrane (so the air pressure inside transmits the sound to small bones)... I was considering that given a (healthy) membrane the hole is just a cavity. Bt then, the other side does have air. No idea how does it go in and out. But scuba or free divers do compensate the pressure on the other side of the membrane when descending... So the air in there goes in and out of the body in seconds. Might be connected to... Nostrils? Haha. My best guesstimate.

    Fuck this game xD

  • Urethra doesn't go anywhere either except for bladder, then nephrons (kidneys)...

Something similar applies to ears, right? And nose... But,

Also, what about the pores in my skin? :O

  • Come back! You dirty liar!!

Haha. This thread was priceless. I thought you were about to recommend playing 4k games connecting the deck to a TV... No idea if it's posible, it should... Anyway...

  • So much words in this thread... Head over bazzite.gg and get f*ing started! You will love it!!

  • That's awful, it means I would get my photo id stolen hundreds of times per day, or there's also thisfacedoesntexists... and won't work. For many reasons. Not all websites require an account. And even those that do, when they ask for "personal verification" (like dating apps) have a hard time to implement just that. Most "serious" cases use human review of the photo and a video that has your face and you move in and out of an oval shape...

  • You do you, of course. But, I think that combining the approach of immutable distros to either case would be a great way to add some security. Even if nothing is ever 100% safe, this would be very robust. Or, even without an immutable distro you can do Qubes or just any sandboxing (e.g. bubblewrap) to open documents and files.

In any case, being paranoid certainly is an elegant sport. Perhaps even more than golfing (:

  • Hard dissent. First, Ban content not users. But even if you are banning users, just a quick detour through OPs history would have been enough to see it as a legit account, with a human behind it.. Plus, the picture surely has proving metadata, and detailed pixels.

  • In my case it doesnt appear in the App drawer but when I opened assistant it offered me switching to Gemini, which I did. Then within it, went to Apps to disable integrations like WhatsApp which by default was ON. Same with SMS and others.

  • Or if you prefer GUI on device apps, Shizuku and then use Cantata

  • Try Pangolin instead of cloudfare, though it requires a VPS (e.g. oracle free tier, or pay €1/month to ionos)

  • As for actual kernel anticheat software siphoning out data, again, it's something that we should not immediatly dismiss... The lack of evidence is not entirely on either side of this sudden 'you vs. me'

Acxiom does sell a package of "Gaming" data. Probably coming from mobile phones for the most part, since that's where most Studios are more aggressive (even towards children, see Tilting Point Media LLC settlement last year)

Again, knowing which Studios are selling data (identifiable or not) is impossible if no Court interferes.

I was only trying to make the point that it is feasible... That's why I referred you to recall that "capitalism bad yadda yadda.."

  • a binary and a kernel module are not the same. And I was talking about business practices that are known. But nevermind, that was before I understood you are just trolling. Now I'll simply wish you a wonderful reddit experience.

  • Data brokers do exist... Who they buy from is the only privacy they respect. You know, capitalism.

  • And this is when I banned OP...

  • Just an update, I learnt that GrapheneOS developers are 'aggressive' towards other FLOSS projects (following comments on other thread, but you can searx grepheneos+controversy and see for yourselves).

So now, I might just prefer an FP6.

  • Those float in the sea, we don't want that iiuc. Is a different plastic too, way more valuable from a recycling perspective (in Argentina hospitals used to collect caps to melt and make toys for childrens)

  • I was trained on Arch, btw.

  • I love this resource, https://thebullshitmachines.com/ (i.e. see lesson 1)..

In a series of five- to ten-minute lessons, we will explain what these machines are, how they work, and how to thrive in a world where they are everywhere.

You will learn when these systems can save you a lot of time and effort. You will learn when they are likely to steer you wrong. And you will discover how to see through the hype to tell the difference. ..

Also, Anthropic (ironically) has some nice paper(s) about the limits of "reasoning" in AI.
