  • There is no learning, companies just move to different antivirus. The new hotness, the cycle repeats over and over until the new antivirus does this same shit. Look at McAfee in 2010, in fact the CEO of Crowdstrike was the CTO of McAfee then. That easily took down millions of windows XP machines.

  • I mean, Microsoft themselves regularly shits the bed with updates, even with Defender updates. It's the nature of security, they have to have that kind of access to stop legit malware. That's why these kind of outages happen every few years. This one just got to much coverage from the banking and airline issues. And I'm sure future outages will continue to get similar coverage.

But the Crowdstrike CEO was also at McAfee in 2010 when they shit the bed and shut down millions of XP machines so it seems like he needs a different career...

  • I think any DLC would have been far from mediocre. Given how much post release support they've done, I have no doubt DLC would have been stellar. But that's my point, the passion for the core game is so clear! But I'm excited to see what the mod community can do with good tools.

  • You must be thinking of a different for com bubble, like OG was like 1995 to 2002. 2002 including the bubble bursting. Gems include the amazing sale of broadcast.com to Yahoo for $5 billion! Like 10k per user of broadcast.com! In 2002 even companies like Cisco lost well over half their stock value and a ton of online seller website disappeared.

  • I mean the Bible is full of killing and God telling people to kill. Pastors have been full of fire and brimstone for generations. Preaching against immigrants in the US basically since the country was founded, burning witches and calling for slaves to be lynched.

Having grown up a southern Baptist, I can assure you that religion in the South has always been full of this behavior.

  • Biden should at least go full Office Space and move all of their desks to the basement of the Supreme Court building. Maybe pass an executive order where the justices all have to ride to work together on a special Supreme Court short bus. I'm fine if he keeps it petty but I just hope he does something to show how dumb of a ruling it is (but probably won't).

  • What the hell were the thieves doing with the tools? They had 15,000 of them, were they going to open a Home Depot? Was this a crew of a few dozen people? How were they making money of they had 15,000 tools in like 12 storage units? Even if this was some shady eBay marketplace operation they must have been having serious trouble finding buyers for these tools or something.

  • I've seen enough QA issues with most of the Chinese EVs I would highly doubt any of them make it to the USA for consumer sale at any scale. Some have overheating issues, panels fall off, cheap seat belts, uncomfortable seats, sizing issues (too small for larger Americans), goofy AC vents that blow weak when pointed downward and high when pointed at your face but don't allow for other adjustments.

  • I'm the same way. But since I've been having to handle my elderly relative's estate I've had to write a ton of checks. The clerk of court requires the use of checks to pay bills for the estate. The estate account was issued a debit card but the bank said I couldn't use it because of the same requirement.
