  • Pretty sure just photoshopped. The logos are way sharper than the rest of the image and the arm band and sleeve logos are really fake looking.

They did a decent job on the flag I guess though.

  • I’m not gonna gatekeep, but was it on a floppy drive? We played it in school on 5.24” floppies.

I recently played a Floppotron video for my 7 year old and he was skeptical that computers sounded like that when games loaded.

We didn’t even get into the 14.4 modem sounds it took to see a webpage.

Edit: Oops I meant 5.25”, but TIL apparently actually 5.1”. Fun fact I learned back in college, is that CDRs fit into 5.25” floppies if you cut a slit and remove the disc.

  • That was my question too, I wonder if there is a reliable way to measure where it all went, or if it’s just diluted in the increased blood volume.

There’s also the possibility that with are more careful with their intake during pregnancy, but that could be controlled for in survey data.

  • Is there, but it’s behind shortcut keys, gestures, right clicks, or force presses.

There’s also a bunch of tricks that become second nature, especially on smaller laptops. The trackpads really make windowing less of a hassle. I just swipe around and occasionally zoom out on an app (which shows all windows) largely without thinking.

  • To be fair GM sold or closed a lot of its brands and foreign subsidiaries, and paid back the loan.

I fucking hate what the US auto industry has historically and is currently doing (making constantly bigger and more expensive trucks in a time we need smaller lighter EVs), but it’s actually a bit different from the SpaceX or EV credit subsidies and more of a low interest loan.

The US has far too many dispersed rural towns for public transit to cover. Yes we need more high speed rail and light rail, but we’re gonna need personal cars because of distances, weather and employment practices for a long time still. And there’s no reason they need to be 3 ton high speed blind spots.
