I do feel pain. When it comes to physical pain, it's kind of more dull than my own pain. And it's not just about pain, I feel other perceptions as well. Looking at someone being in a very cold environment in a movie makes me shiver. When it comes to emotions, I often feel other's emotions as strongly as my own.
The only bad thing that happened to them on the way was diarrhea - which sucks, but after a few days' stop at a pakistani hospital (one guy lost too much liquid and had to get an infusion) they continued happily.
Could be partly explained by the language (and or cultural) barrier of the people from other parts of the world who view the post at night - when it's daytime in their country.
It's nice, but it doesn't really give me hope. Lemmy is good because it's not mainstream. Once it got relevant, it would turn into today's reddit. And if it, by chance, evolved into relevant opposition, I believe it would be easy for billionaires to destroy, despite the decenzralized character. It could also be used for curbing the opposition by gathering information about it. There's no way to hide from people with enough money.
The same goes for the cook though. If the food is good I'm more likely to come back. And the people who do the cleaning - if the restaurant is clean I'm also more likely to be a repeat customer. So perhaps let the whole team have a percent of sales.
He owns the company, he can represent it anyway he wants. If he owes anything to his employees, it's fair wage (I have no idea how fairly or not he pays).
It's ok not to spend time and money on looks. No matter how much money you have. There's no obligation to look good for anyone. The way he looks is not the problem with him.
So people should only start any action after the damage is done? After the torture and death of millions? Because only then it is undeniably similar to WW2 concentration camps. I would propose not to wait for that.
Perhaps you could consider that for diverse reasons people have different prefered ways of communication. You have your own prefered way for your own reasons and that's ok. That doesn't mean you should disrespect other people's communication choices or them personally.
