AI isn't doing anything creative. These tools are merely ways to deliver the information you put into it in a way that's more natural and dynamic. There is no creation happening. The consequence is that you either pay for use of content, or you've basically diminished the value of creating content and potentiated plagiarism at a gargantuan level.

Being that this "AI" doesn't actually have the capacity for creativity, if actual creativity becomes worthless, there will be a whole lot less incentive to create.

The "utility" of it right now is being created by effectively stealing other people's work. Hence, the court cases.

Don’t imagine for a second that Reddit is done pissing off its users. All it takes for lemmy to win is keep improving reliability and usability.

Well, it is true. Most people don’t want to work. I certainly wouldn’t if I could help it.

That was never going to happen. The lines have to strongly defended. But it is no assurance of defeat. It only increases the expense and time to recover. And once Ukrainians have some air force capabilities their combined arms offensive capabilities will be much greater.

If you want to understand why an opposing force gains ground look at what the force in power is doing.

A good system to level off achievement and remove all the incentives to be productive.

A little bit of inflation is a fuel for economic activity. If money doesn’t lose value people have less incentive to put it to work; if it gains value(deflation) people have all the incentive to hoard money.

Currency has no inherent value, it’s purpose is to facilitate trades(economic activity). Products and services are the real value in an economy.

That being said inflation is a real tax and disproportionately hurts the poor.

Same. And I’m quite happy with the reduced time. When I tried to quit reddit cold turkey I found myself back almost immediately. But lemmy is a nice substitute. Content gets replaced at a slower rate, moderation is looser or less annoying. Fewer bot nonsense. And tough there is a crowd here on lemmy spewing a lot of nonsense, I almost prefer that they never get concealed. Shows more truly the divide on the issues. I almost don’t want lemmy to grow to Reddit size, tough I feel it might, with time.

So, in your mind, helping to prevent civilians from dying in a war zone and stopping countries being taken over by foreign powers to be exploited is not a worthy humanitarian effort?

It does. But most of it is locked to the user. Mostly, it's just the user directory that you have access to, which is the correct way.

Is it? Everyone knows how authoritarian China is. Apple cannot show China as being hypocritical, because they are consistently against privacy...Britain on the other hand: talks one way, and then acts another.

Just leave, ffs. It's annoying that in the end of the day people still remain in droves. The only hope is that reddit drives itself into being unusable.
