  • I just dumped Duolingo after this AI bullshit and am testing Mango Languages. So far I like it, but it is way different than Duolingo. Way less gamified and more focused on speaking. Plus, it gives cultural context to certain phrases that don't literally translate, which I find interesting and valuable. if you are in the US, your library might offer a free subscription with your library card.

  • I'm relatively new to Linux, so I'm testing a few distros via VMs right now. My main desktop runs OpenSUSE Leap with KDE Plasma and I love it so far. I'm also trying Fedora 42 with GNOME, but I'm realizing I don't like GNOME. I'm running Linux Mint Cinnamon on a 2016 MacBook Pro, which is pretty nice too. I also ran Debian stable for a bit. OpenSUSE is my favorite of the ones I've tried.

  • Exactly. There is a way to do what they're doing that isn't so blatant and ham-fisted, but none of these fucking idiots have any tact or subtlety.   • Not the person you were replaying to, but the winds of power have shifted and she is trimming her sails accordingly. She may have run espousing LGBTQ+ policies because that was the smart political thing to do, but now that Musk, et al are in power, these people can drop their "politically correct" act and show us who they really are, which is a bunch of intolerant, power-hungry fascists.
