Totally agree. I have a close friend that works at AWS (although not anywhere close to s3) and this article was making the rounds internally. I know people have been upset about this, but it genuinely just sounds like one of those edge cases they overlooked until it was exposed. It sucks, but any developer has a good story of a time they've done it. Hopefully they get a fix out soon.
That's not what killed him though. It would be bizarre for Boeing to use their vast resources to hire some special assassin to... make a guy winded enough to go to the hospital? Feels like hearing zebras over horses to me.
I am someone with no Tarkov experience, but I like the idea of the formula and would like to play a PvE experience. I have seen Gray Zone and a few other options. Is anyone able to speak to the quality of the options out there right now without comparisons to Tarkov?
Sure, okay. I agree that people are being manipulated by media and that politicians have lied. Now what? Are we going to just sit and hope it corrects itself? Fixing any of the problems our country or the world are facing is going to take a multi-faceted approach across all sorts of diverse groups and ideologies banding together to shut out the unacceptable ones. Part of that approach will be voting out the conservatives where it is possible and encouraging and aiding those that are "softly" disenfranchised via misinformation or inconvenience to vote. Anything else is just giving up, and we cannot do that.
I would never deny that voters are disenfranchised and I would hope that most politically engaged people understand that it factors into these discussions. At the same time, it's not an explanation for all non-voting. Some of these laws have been around for longer than most of have been alive, and some of these states have been blue. Even setting aside the state-level government, there are local representatives and officers to elect. It all matters and a rising tide for any one factor will lift the other boats. We can all focus on what we are passionate about and join together so our efforts contribute to the whole.
It's horrifying, but these are not dictatorships. DeSantis and his legislature were voted in by the people of Florida. DeSantis is not just stomping all over the opinions of Floridians, he represents those who showed up to vote. If we let only the cruel vote and choose our leaders, those leaders will be cruel.
All good, and apologies for the heat. There are just a lot of people that are commenting these very strong opinions and show a clear lack of understanding in even the basics of our process.
And to address your revised take: because we have not had a filibuster-proof majority in the legislative chambers with the space to focus on cannabis issues. We have to vote in a congress with the ability to do this.
They're not crying. They're pulling the levers of power to perpetuate their hate. I am not making this distinction to give them any sort of credit, but instead to ensure we all know that this is another concrete action taken against the people. This is not an action we should point and laugh at. We should be in horror, and preparing ourselves to push back in the ways we are able.
At the very minimum, please vote in November. Vote federally, vote locally. Deny conservatives their court majorities that strip our rights away. Deny them their positions of power to bring suits from. When that is done, we can then all point and laugh at the futility of their cruelty.
why not just scrap the entire law that's landing prison sentences for nonviolent drug offenses?
You really, really need to get caught up on the basics of how our government works before forming any strong political opinions. The president has no ability to "scrap entire laws" and that's entirely intentional and part of the foundation of the American political system.
Why the aggression? I'm not some idiot armchair politician and explicitly defer to the professionals in my comment. I'm worried because Trump has some weird plot armor in real life and frankly, any situation he's involved in scares me. America is fickle, this is a new election with a new set of circumstances, and the "Biden is too old" narrative could impact either way depending on his performance.
Yeah that's why I'm deferring to the pros. They have better numbers and political minds than I do. This is likely just dread settling in now that we're getting back into the swing of things with Trump involved.
I don't think this is a good idea at all, but I'll defer to the professional campaign strategists. Trump loves this field of battle where he can just flout the rules and strut around in comparison to his opponent.
You still haven't addressed my argument? I'll wait for that message. To be clear, here it is: While there ARE a multitude of bad games with bad practices out there, particularly in the AAA space, there has NEVER been a more accessible period for indies and AA studios to create games. This has led to an EXPLOSION of solid games without predatory practices. All told, I believe there are MORE of these good AA/indie options than there were good AAA options in the past. I listed some of my favorite above (NON-EXHAUSTIVELY and only as EXAMPLES, not as a basis for my argument, which you ignored TIME and TIME again to set up your STRAWMAN). These games were also highly rated by the industry as a whole, which is why we're talking about them at all. Of course, this entire discussion is SUBJECTIVE, so there will always be people who despair at the given state of any industry. I though, believe there are PLENTY of fantastic, non-predatory, non-loot-boxed, non-season-passed, highly rated games out there. The fact that there are also a large number of bad games out there too DOES NOT HURT ME if I don't play them and I have those good options to play. FOR ME, that's why gaming is in a good state. And to drive another point home, I'M NOT TRYING TO CHANGE YOUR MIND! Hate it if you want. I was just trying to discuss the topic, not have a big fight with a stranger on the internet.
