  • -oid on its own isn't great due to the way reactionaries use it if you're not referencing their use of it or something, maybe use 'nato-simp', 'natsec ghoul' or 'little piggie baying for the blood of foreigners'.

  • Earliest sign I remember was way back, before the snipers started, there were some widely publicized pictures of protesters with barricades that had nazi artillery.

My first take was that it was like Minnesota's confederate battle flag, but in retrospect, the lack of red flags (or other soviet imagery) should have been a red flag.

  • His first experience with someone from hexbear was literally my post responding to him right here.

He came from a place that was never federated with hexbear, he is on a place that only federated with hexbear just now.

  • Every damn time. ::: spoiler spoiler

I'm being silenced! Those evil communists don't tolerate different opinions!

    : Oh? Which opinions?

Woah there, are you implying I hold objectionable opinions?

    : WHICH OPINIONS MOTHERFUCKER?! :::

  • I [...] have had nearly identical experience from hexbears. It bothered me so much I went back to reddit after a 45 day hiatus.

He couldn't have had such an experience if he's not from an instance that was federated with hexbear.

  • We addressed both of your concerns about harassment and downvotes.

"I've been silenced! I'm leaving if you don't defederate?"

Don't you think you're being a little hyperbolic?

Personally I don't remove my comments even if I turn out to be wrong, since other people reading might have been similarly mistaken.

  • Both of these were addressed earlier.

Brigading is going through someone's past comments and posts and down voting them en masse, which I have had happen on Lemmy

Hexbear is functionally unable to do this.

    harassing them in general.

You can just post "disengage" if someone's doing that.

  • Hexbear couldn't have driven him out of Lemmy.world because Hexbear never federated with Lemmy.world.

Also we've barely been federated with lemm.ee for a day. Has the first hours of interaction you've ever had with hexbear been so bad you're planning to abandon the fediverse altogether?

  • If you're afraid of people not dropping it or harassing you in other threads, you can just post "disengage". If they don't drop it, they'll be banned by hexbear mods.

Note: It's not a hack to get the last word in, it doesn't count if you write a bunch of shit then end it with disengage.

I'm not gonna ask what opinions you hold that you're afraid to air in public.

  • Apologies, there's been numerous people making things up about hexbear.

edit- Wait, we were never federated with lemmy.world, we couldn't have driven you back to reddit because we've never federated with the instance you said we drove you from!

    Weaselly little liar.

  • brigade

It's not brigading, this is the top thread on both of our instances and the admin OK'd our input. blahaj had 2 Hexbear federation threads, one including everyone and one just for blahaj users.

Also hexbear doesn't have downvotes, so we have a culture of responding to add or refute information.

    debate ideology

We're pretty disdainful of debate culture. A discussion where both people are trying to appeal to a third party instead of have a genuine discussion is inherently in bad faith.
