When they compare biden to FDR or his shit to the New Deal it makes me immediately question every position the writer doesn't have facts for, because that comparison would get you an F in any history class above High School.

Im sick of the media comparing Biden and his bills to FDR and the New Deal. You can't say shit like this that would get you laughed at by historians then act surprised when people stop trusting the media to report unbiasedly. Now its "New Deal Style" sure it is, and his next bill is gonna be in Gangnam Style.

Same, reddit is now pc only for me and only when im going for content or conversation that's just not on lemmy yet. Lemmy has let me fully disconnect from reddit news and politics which is a massive blessing in itself, and also kept my mobile browsing habbits satisfied.

Call me whatever you want but Im happy the people who make these bad decisions from their insulated lots in life have to face at least some kind of consequences now, because the law is explicitly set up so that they typically never have to. Sucks that it comes to this but its behavior analysis 101, if you dont introduce consequences for undesirable behaviors, you'd be an idiot to expect change.

I don't love that it's probably caught up a lot of people who have nothing or little to do with it though, but the guys at the top need consequences or nothing will change, and beggars cant be choosers.

Im sick of this 'if Dems do it Republicans will too.' Because if the Republicans could have already done that they would have already done it. The fact that the Dems have not done something yet is stopping zero Republicans from considering or attempting it. Its strange that you imagine a fascist government that wouldn't try to install maga goons simply because the ladt Dem president didn't install his goons. I just don't see that as plausible.
