  • Are you on iOS? The next release will have an "open in Safari" option from share sheet of posts/comments.

  • they should be displayed as a normal emoji size

OH yeah, I did make a tweak to that recently so emojis are smaller.

btw, I noticed that they are small on db0 instance but don't look right on remote instances - e.g. https://vger.social/post/11849459

I think this is because the markdown needs the "emoji blah" class name - e.g.

     ![Facepalm](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/0442a870-62f6-42e0-91ee-a664ba65b5b2.png "emoji facepalm")

(notice the "emoji facepalm" - prefix by word "emoji" make it small on remote instances I think)

  • Hey thanks! šŸ’œ

  • Hmm - it should always add the @example.com if its a remote community. Local omits. Could add a setting to always force it on

  • Yeah, definitely. I did a POC with Loops and it worked nice. I just need to revisit and make good privacy settings so that user can configure sites to enable auto embed (since Voyager would need to make a passive request to the respective instance while scrolling the feed).

  • Definitely will be added for peertube/loops, but Youtube would be hard to do so in a privacy preserving way.

  • Yes, I'd say there is a pretty good chance of better mod features this year. It will probably be a gated/buried setting to enable.

  • Do you mean, can't find your place in the post feed?

One thing I recommend for users that scroll really far in the feed is to use post hiding (with the hide button enabled in the feed - or auto hide). That way you won't lose your place, even if the app restarts. Of course you can reset hidden posts too.

  • That sounds annoying that the thumbnail won't load. Is there a lemmy bug for it?

  • This would be cool! However it does require backend support for groups

  • I spent some time investigating this before. It is possible, but unfortunately not trivial to add. Definitely something I'd like to add though

  • I haven't seen that before - if you get a good way to consistently reproduce please lmk. Android I assume

  • Lots of images are webp but when I share them I just get the link to the file instead of a downloaded and cached media share.

Are you on Android? And are you using native app or PWA? Let me know a specific example too and I'll check it out

Saving videos is coming soon btw

  • There will likely be a setting for this at some point.

  • That's in the plans, nothing is blocking this other than my limited time haha
