What is the most effective way to let the DNC know that I hate them?

Being intelligent in the US is a frustrating existence.

Great piece, my only disagreement is that I think Harvard should pay 15x more in taxes.

It is garbage compared to what it once was. Once they stopped acting like an actual co-op, it was the end.

I ended up buying a cheap controller that clamps to my phone and run emulators. It works way better than I ever expected.

I was guessing that E621 was MSG, and I was correct. Monosodium glutamate is great, I keep a shaker of it on my spice rack.

So far I'm loving it, and I say this as someone that has played Oblivion every few months since release. I had to move the original to my external drive to make room for the remaster. Still just getting, started but so far it's a very faithful upgrade.

I'm playing it on the Series X and it runs smoother than the OG while looking like a modern AAA game.

I think there are a few things happening.

More and more individuals are contributing to the Internet through social media rather than simply consuming. They are bringing their (lack of) spelling and grammar with them, resulting in the variety of mistakes you've noticed.

At the same time I have noticed more and more mistakes appearing in "professional" publications. I don't ever recall seeing a typo on an NPR website up until the past 1-2 years. Now I see grammatical and spelling mistakes almost everywhere.

I'm guessing it's a combination of laying off editors and using AI.

But at the end of the day, if a language isn't evolving, it's dead.

Haha, I always felt scummy selling the credit cards, but that and the number of memberships you sold determined your hours.

I worked there for the better part of a decade, but got out when I saw the writing on the wall. Unfortunately, I still have friends working there.

REI was already fully transitioned from a co-op to another big box store well before that.

REI has consistently hired executives and board members with backgrounds in traditional retail and other for-profit ventures since 2010.

They have chosen to run REI like their prior companies, focusing on margins and profitability rather than its primary responsibility, the members.

They have continued to open new stores and over extend themselves because profit must go up, though the main revenue generator for them is the membership fee. And because it is a one time fee, rather than recurring, they have to continue to open new stores to stay profitable.

On top of no longer acting like a co-op, REI has decided to fight its employees unionization efforts. Numerous REI stores have voted to unionize, and REI has refused to recognize the unions, in some cases for years at this point. REI has also hired notorious union- busting lawyers, removed PPE from repair shops, and illegally laid off dozens of individuals.

REI is now clearing house; laying off long term staff and replacing them with new, less expensive, and less knowledgeable employees. In 2010 the average camping department employee got 15+ hours of training; whereas by 2018 it was less than 4 hours.

REI is following exactly in the footsteps of Mountain Equipment Co-Op in Canada. Once on par with REI, MEC is just another shell of a company raped by private equity. And unfortunately for a lot of good people, I think REI will suffer a similar fate.

Fair, I didn't see that it was optional. Even so, having to pay more just for better frame rates and faster load times is a little silly considering it's a new console and that should be expected. I could understand if there were new higher res textures or quality of life improvements, but it doesn't seem to be that.

That's a good point, but there are also significantly lower costs for digital downloads compared to a plastic cartridges that have to be shipped.

I don't know about Sony, but I can play all of my digitally purchased games on my Xbox, regardless of generation. I can play my original xbox, 360, and Xbox one games on my Series X without any additional charges.

The fact that I have to upgrade my Switch games to play them on the Switch 2 is annoying. Especially for a game like Breath of the Wild, which has already released at full price on 2 other consoles.

I suppose open world Mario Kart could be interesting, but not worth $80. And having to pay more to "upgrade" games I already have is a no for me. Especially when it seems like the upgrades are just minor graphical improvements.
