i don't change the power levels, but i have a couple routers (one at home, one at the office) that i've disconnected the (external) antennas to reduce their reach. they're only needed occasionally, and only in the rooms they're located in. the signal that's left is enough.
our 'price for life' plan was killed by the telephone company with increases each of the last several months. we're now at $190 for a basic landline (needed) and pretty slow dsl; nearly double the cost from six months ago. welcome to small town america.
and then there's a few films like robert rodriguez' we can be heroes, which has only his studio card at the very beginning and a title card two and a half minutes in. that's it. no opening theme, no opening credits at all, nothing. just movie. i kinda like it, actually.
i used to love going to kmart back then. close parking. easy in-and-out. no lines and no big crowds, not even friday after thanksgiving or christmas eve.
well it's not like they're a news channel. why would they broadcast actual facts when it's the bullshit and lies that drives ratings and 'pays the bills'?
