  • Jetbrains has been irritating me by breaking a lot of tools I use because of their race for AI goodness.

I eventually rolled back the phpstorm I use to last year’s release, to get functionality again, and there are dozens of tickets for the issues.

They broke stuff that worked over years. For instance, copy and paste broke when doing larger code base and wanting to copy a file.

Either they enshitified, or the war really crippled them and now in trouble, maybe both. I know they lost some real talent

  • The genocide has such wide support in the USA community and defense companies ( irregardless of the louder minority of people protesting it)

That if there were justice, then many other people and organizations would have similar treatment and be kicked

We can’t get away from politics, or limits, but if I will point out the hypocrisy

  • Non politically correct summary can be :

    Bigots R dumb

Reactive personalities, who don’t understand their world , and have no curiosity to look, make great targets for scams etc. They are natural made victims in today’s world

  • The western reaction is calm, considering, slightly curious and not urgent. The quotes show a lack of importance. It might as well be business as usual instead of a harbinger of wider war.

Disasters like this often have the same kind initial reactions in history

  • I agree that zoning can really improve things.

Which can be helped by changes in local government. But today there is little involvement in city and town government.

Probably this lack of participation is because most people of the USA moved and changed careers multiple times in the last two generations. A greater percentage did this than in the first Industrial Revolution.

And it happened while changes in family structures and long distance communication changed. A perfect recipe for lack of civic involvement .

  • The leaks that 2% of the population got very excited about for a while, but try not to think much about? The leaks judged by many on the reputation of an obscure man living in Russia? Those leaks?

I trust my government and not things only nerds understand. Also they sound weird and made up and very scary ( said most of the people)

  • When I was growing up in the 1970s there were thousands of lightning bugs at night. Any time going outdoors after sunset I could see hundreds of lights winking on and off every few seconds, in fascinating patterns that I loved to look at. Later at night the bugs would fly higher or stop flashing

It was such an ordinary part of life, but movies and tv at the time don’t capture that very well .

Now its gone, for most areas

  • Each year, is about a 1/2 of 1 percent the sun will give out a flare so big, it will not only destroy all power distribution to the half of the earth exposed, and destroy the internet there, but cut off food distribution, starving most of the population in any county . Last time it happened was in the 1800s but no stuff to destroy then. And food was local.

It would be years before things were normal . Our current setup is literally doomed to failure for a random half of the earth

  • Something I talked about earlier in political discussions was that the Usa has a problem of neighborhoods not being as social as they used to be.

Fewer bars, ymca, gatherings. Neighbors stay inside more. Children do not play in the street so much. Very few adults walk in the streets ( compared to Europe). Religious attendance is down .

That makes grassroots and revolutionary fever hard except on the internet. And the internet is showing it sort of sucks doing that, getting people outdoors, regardless of their creed, religious or political beliefs.

All that show up are usually elites , and some people in cities.

If you look at any modern revolution, there are healthy neighborhood dynamics driving it allowing a parallel bottom up growth

In the USA, People will probably have heated comments on social media, except in some small areas of cities, with only a few casualties

  • It can’t be saber rattling at this stage, it’s a promise.

Maybe one that cannot be kept, but I seriously doubt the allies could stop it if the fronts retract and troops from nato countries are not sent?
