2 buses a day and 1 train every hour - one direction at a time. You miss one due to whatever reason especially cancellation by an operator or delays and suddenly you lose 2 hours.

How’s that acceptable ?

Erh I don’t think you’re making sense… and generally your argumentation is a lot of rebuttals and no sources either.

So as an example let’s take the taxation in my home country - Belgium. We generally decided that cars are a source of pollution and that everyone should move away from the more polluting ones. To do that taxes were generally raised for cars not matching a given norm.

That you are rich or poor, from the north or south, countryside or city-side we have the exact same taxes.

If you’re poor and in the relative countryside you’re screwed ; public transport offer is getting shittier each years and soon older cars will be banned effectively or way too expensive to be affordable for the less fortunate / those that cannot already swap to compliant cars.

But I see that you’re an angry dude - you should redirect that energy into something more positive.

Always pleasant to be called a « rounding error »… Policies at country level generally applies to those living on the countryside same as urbanites save for some funky parking taxes that select cities elected to add on top of the global incentives to reduce the overall car park. This applies obviously to my local context in europe.

Man you seem to live in a paradise if those living in the countryside have to maintain their own roads or networks… here that’s all guaranteed to be at least minimally covered.

Yeah it seems so… and it’s not only the barren countryside that is set aside - anything smaller than metropolis or conurbations isn’t relevant to them.

Then you need to cancel the whole countryside… because there won’t be any « fantastic public transportation » outside of large cities… and living in the countryside doesn’t mean one is rich.

European country reporting; our radio offer sucks ass as well and has been for a while. There aren’t small niche stations on waves since it’s cheaper on the net. No clue how it is elsewhere but I don’t think it’s going to be better…

Yeah that would be a good one and the reason I keep a receiver at hand and charged. But I see the point.

What mobile data usage? I’m loading my tracks at home save a few times I browse where I have network coverage… for all intents and purposes bar the monthly tax it’s the same as my good old mp3 player. Also audio streaming isn’t exactly the most bandwidth consuming thing right ? Unless you want lossless quality but then good luck with FM radio…

I must be ootl; what’s the upside compared to Spotify ? Having to endure ads, talk-shows and other open mics while having shitty reception isn’t enticing… at least here there isn’t any station I would find satisfying content-wise; given the whole frequency assignment bullshit small stations are few and far between with nothing that would cover metal and / or frenchcore. So the small benefit of music discovery isn’t really possible anymore for me.

TIL in English it is called assembly 😅 We had C in 2nd year, first was only cobol, assembly and pascal. Fun times :)

Cobol wasn’t that bad… the use of line numbers was weird but at the time it wasn’t unique either. Assembler now… that was a bitch… the operations weren’t exactly intuitive and playing with registers wasn’t my thing. But I could pickup cobol if I was starving no problem :)

Opt-out is still illegal in many cases… a lot must be opt-in based. Typically consent must be freely given.

Wouldn’t the decay of one’s be a source of emission?

It’s a classic figure in western culture… and a fitting character given his story and the planet he’s from. We’ve had plenty cowboys in movies, comic strips and I’m from europe… Not my favourite setting but it works…
