  • It’s a branding issue, ultimately. If I make a product, I should be able to choose where I sell that product and the brands I associate with. Now imagine I sell a pen with a special ink only

Uniball and Pilot make ink, but that they weren’t really using it so sold it to me at a discount. Everyone starts using my pens and the ink shows up everywhere. As a consequence, the ink industry slowly starts pulling their ink from my pens and raising prices. With everyone now selling the fancy ink pens and me without the original ink, it’s no longer just a branding issue, it leans to common carrier provisions. The ink is like the network, it is common currency in the market, like laid infrastructure. Treating it like a brand now will reduce competition and stagnant the market.

The ink is also the streaming content. Prevent companies from preventing fair use and you fix the issue. What stops Disney from making 5 “competing” streaming services and “licensing” to itself and blocking others? It’s a media creating monopoly, you can’t let that slide.

  • The problem with fedi is that you need some kind of lowest common denominator gatekeeper. So that a client can tell the server: I don’t want to see x,y,z and it works reliably.

In order to have that functionality, someone has to class that content first. You can’t trust the author implicitly, so you have to trust either the server or a moderation group.

How you define the mod group, be it random community member based on comment and post karma, or a trusted ring of insiders with votes, or some other method, data still needs a place to be stored.

  • Women’s breast produce milk, which comes from procreation. That’s more sexual than a man’s non-functional nipples, even if slightly. Other animals don’t have enlarged breast like humans do. That points to them having an estrus function in addition to their biological function. Breast very well may be a hard-wired arousal point.

  • These micro-examples are a reminder that corruption is a part of every human system, no matter how perfect the design.

There will always be concertgoers cutting the unwatched fence to sneak in for free.

The only plausible solution is elective transparency. Either your company and financial metadata are available for independent third party review, and records retained as defined, or else you’re not a company.

Don’t ascribe to it, get boycotted.
