  • So is the Internet Archive a library, or a preservation place? I feel like you're advocating for them to be both, which isn't how the law views them.

Edit: I for one would prefer they not waste money on a losing battle, and stick to preserving things. Id hate to see them lose on trying to be a library, and then all of their efforts wasted.

I'll admit that I do like that they're trying to scurt the law by doing what you've said, but it clearly isn't enough.

  • Does IA have the right to lend and rent stuff? I believe that is the true issue here. At the moment they aren't doing anything different then say what a piracy website would do. The right way would by making said links expire, not allowing infinite copies, and an actual "lending" system would do them more good then harm.

  • I think its an incredibly fair view point. If IA loses, and the way back machine goes down, because they keep losing these lawsuits, then it has absolutely affected this person.

To be quite honest, I even agree. The IA should be for preservation, not for piracy. Right now they're boarding that line of piracy, and tbh, I disagree with that as well. Id rather go to a pirate website to pirate my books, and go to the IA to see what has been preserved.

  • Better than 3 maybe, but doesn't even hold a candle to New Vegas. Hell, id argue 3 with NV's engine is leagues better.

  • You can take away peoples home, food, and rights... Just don't you dare touch their entertainment for the plebs might get antsy...

  • You don't building, no you build a building.

  • Neither party wants to fix it. Corporations be damned.

  • Yeah if I had to guess a lot of components need to be assembled/put together in a clean room. Then to keep everything "clean", mine as well just assemble it all in one place, which isn't likely doable on site.

  • An yet its common enough that people are able to figure out what is meant.

  • Do you mean winner? I believe in the states it also loser pays.

  • Bluewallet, bitcoin. I've found quite a few Bitcoin Kiosks in the wild (U.S), which still requires a 20, but can go a long way with no need to identify yourself anywhere.

  • In this day and age where updating an app means losing half the functionality, no thanks. Would love a way around that though!

  • Sadly I can tell you from experience that a massive amount of Gen Z/A actually do look up to these people, and it is a massive problem.

When a large portion of the next generation are looking up to the likes of Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan, does that mean we are all full fucking stupid?

  • My inner memory is very blurry so to speak, so trying to imagine myself always leaves me feeling weird if I look in a mirror. So I try not to. Otherwise my memories are generally from a 3rd person view which while hard to describe makes perfect sense in my head.

  • Lower Decks!

  • I simply don't, and wouldn't trust Apple. They will tell you they are all about privacy, and happily sell your data behind your back. Just like any other company.

  • I don't use either of those thankfully:).

  • Best of luck doing this all on Android. Back when I didn't have a PC I ended up just giving up torrenting. Its not worth the hassle, plus as others have suggested you're going to want to use Qbit, with extensions. Beyond simple QoL things a PC is just going to make everything 1000x easier.
