  • Typically when unemployment is around 4 percent, that is everyone working that wants to work. The 4 percent is people between jobs and people that are kind of looking for work but not in a rush to work. It difficult to be under that number.

In other words we are often at a point where unemployment is at zero. 4 percent being zero.

  • It is a legitimate statement but hardly news worthy. He visited shortly after the towers collapsed. The article also quotes other incidents where his statements were not accurate but for the most part true. I wouldn't call it intentional misleading for political clout although it is a bit weird to make statements that are easily disapproved.

  • Often it is the bun that can destroy a burger. There is a limit to how much variety and taste in the meat. But most times it is the main thing people focus on. How it is cooked factors a great deal mind you.

A good burger is far more then the meat alone.

  • These subsidies are mostly implicit. Particularly in countries like the US, Canada etc. Implicit are basically environmental costs. The only countries that government actually is subsidizing growth to any extent are countries like Saudia Arabia, Iran, Russia. To a lesser extent you have Western nations like Germany and the UK that are subsisting energy to your house so you don't pay so much.

In other words the biggest cost or implicit subsidies as they call it is not subsidies to companies but the environmental costs us consumers do not pay to use energy.

  • A person said a place he worked at would not let them drink water for 6 hours and I called bullshit. Then you try and claim it must be true because shit happens in other countries. Tell me what American company is forcing kids or anyone to work at gunpoint so that you can't even get a glass of water?

  • Again you provided a source for countries that have employees child labor of which the US is not on there or no Western nations.

Is there a reason you would give sources that have nothing to do with what has been claimed here?

  • He ultimately was not qualified for other reasons and did not get hired. But I did think thru the interview process it would start to look stupid if some client phoned in and asked for Tim. I would have to figure out which one he needed out of half our employees.

  • There is wealth in many age groups mind you. Different issue. Not sure how to fix that but for the most part, that wealth is not directly used. Generally by the time they are entering politics, they have gained a great deal of influence. Their wealth certainly factors for that. But how do you create a system that puts everyone on an equal level? How do you for example ensure Trump's fame prior to entering politics does not give him an advantage? And in his case it did not have anything to do with wealth.

  • Age limits seem ridiculous in a democracy. If you think someone is too old, there is a great way to remove them. Don't vote for them. Anything less then that is not democratic.

Personally I think these polls are silly or inaccurate. If 75% of voters think there should be an age limit, then why are there so many old politicians?

  • At one time seven people worked in my company and three of them were named Tim. Then I interviewed a new employee and his name was Tim. Honestly it actually weighed in my decision to have 4 Tims in a company of 8 employees.

  • No business that wants to stay in business won't let employees drink water for 6 hours while working them hard. And yes someone could carry out an illegal act and I am sure it has occurred but unless you had a gun to your head, who doesn't just get a drink of water.

  • 300 million people in the US and that few fatalities? 14 a day is high or unexpected? There are over 100 fatalities a day in vehicle accidents alone. That is not including accidents at home or from other misadventure. By your stat which is fairly correct, you are closer to ten times more likely to die outside of work then a work place accident.

People make mistakes. At home and at work. I can think of a handful of accidents in my area and everyone if then we're the result of an employee ignoring a safety rule. The majority of work place accidents I personal have knowledge of were the result of some employee ignoring a safety rule. The larger the company, the more safety was enforced.
