No, he did kill her but the investigation was so mismanaged that it's impossible to prove. Her mother discovered later that the police chief was Joran's godfather and did everything in his power to sabotage the investigation.

She wrote a book about it and it's really disgusting how they treated her and her family. I just listened to a podcast about this case by two sisters that knew her and were in school with her (People are the worst).

Edit: the extortion was an operation by the police and her mother to get him to confess, since he was already asking her for money to tell her where he buried her or how he killed her. (I think)

I just listened to a podcast about that case from people who knew her and her family. It's horrible what they went through, especially the mom.

Wow, no one is going to mention what Israel is doing to these people? I don't agree with terrorists, but the replies should be more nuanced than 'bad Palestines'.

In my eyes, as an outsider following the news, Israel has pushed Palestinians to the brink by killing Palestine civilians, seizing more of their land AGAIN and having a dictator for a president that just changed the constitution..

If you take people's land, your military kills children, films and laughs about it, push them into poverty, and then come for their homes... Sometimes this is the only way to say 'enough'.

It's a new trick from scammers. They engage you that way and try to get money or gift cards from you.

(Bad) Reddit has a complete subreddit about it and people post how they string them along etc ... it is hilarious.

Looking back, I think my oldest sister was one of the lucky ones.

One day, this guy my parents chose, flew into the country and two weeks later they were married.

The only 'good' thing is, he wasn't really religious, not bad looking and had her back, just an overall good guy. She quickly fell for him, but still begrudging him too, because it was not her choice.

He gave her more freedom, respect and trust than my parents ever did. He'd help with the kids, clean, cook, work etc... so she could go back to school for her degree.

My parents objected to that and her walking around without a stupid headscarf they pressured her into and he told them she was his wife now, he trusted her and she could do and dress as she pleased. She got her degree and started working.

They're still happily married now after 28 years and have 3 daughters. One of them even broke the wheel and married a Belgian guy :)

Times have really changed for the better for some of us.

The cat is making it clear to you that he's frustrated with the amount of cat litter he has. More importantly, that you have to really clean it more, since it's obvious he has no more space to pee or poop cleanly.

My cats have 3 litter boxes which I clean twice a day. One of them is a bigger and they both prefer that one. If the litter gets under 15cm, I see this behaviour. They 'bury and dig' more fervently/aggressively and litter is flying everywhere while they're 'grumbling'.

Now they can be Proud Bitches...

It's so funny, I have the same cats and the tuxedo does this daily to my orange boy. Despite the orange one being twice his size. And yes, the orange one has to be comforted lengthily every time.

Don't hate me for this, but American news always reminds me of the Handmaid's Tale and how some people have taken an inspiration from it to make it a reality. With the abortion bans, anti Lbgtq+, the attempted 'coup', .... It's starting I guess.

I listened to the audiobooks after I finished the series and loved it. I do recommend listening at a 1.15 speeding rate though, because some sections were slow.
