Maybe someone just took the opportunity of the war to kill her and get away with it. Violence against women is rising every day.

It took me a few days of browsing All and blocking anything sports, games and anime related and now it's far far better. They still pop up sometimes, but I make it a war effort to block them. It is exhausting, but worth the time.

My cat would disagree. No mouse in the house, but he's managed to kill and present 3 of them to me before being locked up forever inside. Never seen him cockier and prouder than those days.

To be honest, I would join anyone too if I was living there. I think it's really hard not to, on both sides and I applaud and respect the f*ck out of every Palestinian AND Israeli that doesn't get radicalized by the constant fear and terror.

It is a cycle with no end.

I tried walking my cat, it did work but the problem was other people walking their dogs and letting them loose in parks. So I stopped going since it terrified him. I tried keeping him in his carrier backpack like thingy, but he still didn't enjoy it.

Now I have a tuxedo devil kitten, maybe I'll try it again. Just have to think hard about how and where he can be safe. Maybe just start with his carrier and then move on to the leash?

Yes, that's me. I like it here, people are nicer in general. When I read some comments on political posts, it reminds me of Reddit and I quit. I don't want them here, let Lemmy grow naturally or not at all. It's hypocrisy I know, but just go look at r/all on Reddit and read the comments and justify wanting them here. Nope.

Martha Wells and her Murderbot series is hilarious. It really made me laugh out loud and I read every book back to back.

It's about a robot that thinks he's a psychopath and a murderer, who hacked his own circuits so he can pirate TV shows and watch them while on missions.

I've always wondered even as a child why we can't get rid of genders and just call it human and nonhuman (to include our alien friends).

It would make life so much easier for everybody, except for writers I guess.

It's money. They even throw money at influencers now to stop covering Palestinian stories so their genocide can go unrecorded.

They lobbied the US government and military for years and Trumpers see them as the perfect apartheid state and a handbook on how to go forward without anyone who isn't white or (fake/their version of) Christian basically. Although ironically, they also hate them for being Jewish, but drool at their tech and arms.

Europe is terrified for their Jewish civilians and the optics of not supporting them after WWII. Once Israel went too far, they tried to be levelheaded, but it didn't work/worked partially.

In the long run, Europe is getting shafted again. They have to keep the peace between their Muslim, Jewish civilians AND their own Nazi extremists.

Terrorism will rise again on all sides and they can't just shoot innocent people like the US.

Let's face it. Europe is not the answer to anything that's not 3 feet away from them. They even have a saying: a-far-from-my-bed-show. They will do just the minimum for optics.

But hey, US gets to play war again huh?

It's more complicated than that obviously. But I just got up.

I truly believe Israel did the hit, and the narrative is being shifted around now because they knew they went too far and international backlash might not be in their favour. We'll find out eventually.

It's not about plausibility anymore, they want to turn Gaza into a parking lot, these people are talking about mowing the grass every few years so that explains why the majority of Palestinians is underage.

But you're right, I might be biased. Both sides have extremist that are willing to do anything for their cause, but one side has been pushed to the brink with no way out. I'm really not surprised this breeds terrorists/freedom fighters who'd rather die than live like a dog.

I can only think about the civilians on both sides that died. Children are dying and the next generation of terrorists/freedom fighters/orthodox extremists are being made right as we speak. This cycle of violence has no end.

And nobody even mentions the hostages anymore. It's kids paying the price while old white men talk and talk.

I'm really emotional so not a good place to speak from, and will be reading and following less news the coming weeks, just for my mental health. I don't want to live in this world anymore.

As a European, I don't believe anything the US says anymore. Not after decades of deception and disinformation from them.

You should read a certain website. They have a whole playbook on act 2 of the war and how to spread propaganda to keep people from questioning their wrongness. That's playing out now. Media attention and sueing newspapers that don't agree with their cause.

The timestamps have been investigated and Israel did it. They're using footage from 40 minutes after the attack to try and pin it on Hamas.

The US really should think about implementing a law about hate speech, inciting violence against others, based on race, gender, religion, etc ...

Just copy paste from the law in Belgium, the UK or Germany. That way you can round up these people and maybe in a decade have a decent society again.

This made me laugh out loud. I have the same asshole, but male. No toys can survive past 1 week and always curious, following me around like a mother-in-law when cleaning and terrorizing my orange boy everytime he wants my attention. He already knows that pisses me off and heads to his 'time out' corner before I even point.

They're trying to kill as many as possible, before the international sentiment turns on them.

Biden is on his way and Hamas just issued a statement not an hour ago that they would release all civilian hostages (foreign or Israeli) if Israel would stop the bombing. They said it would be an easy thing to do and would happen within the hour if they could just stop bombing Gaza.

Guess that offer is off the table now. They don't want the hostages back, just their revenge that has no end.
