I would argue that that mistake is indeed on you and the possibility of failure likely predictable. (At least if you were shrinking it)

That makes a lot more sense, thanks I did see in the syntax highlighting that it was a keyword but forgot that none of them took parameters.

I understand that, it makes sense. But why does it not throw an error? The parameter is missing after all.

Why is literally nothing equivalent to None? Is it because None is the default value of an optional parameter? (If so why oh why is it optional)

This is what I assume happened. They probably used a program that allows each string to be localized individually and the translator(s) didn't think to make it match the other strings which would have required looking up.

Why does not without a parameter return True? I'm starting to like the fact that I haven't touched python in a while.

But if you type it as "[RTL invert]yyyy/mm/dd" it is automatically sorted correctly in ltr parsing systems but still displayed correctly (assuming it is supported which it seems to be on most devices nowadays).

To be fair I read it as 12A PR 2025 (yes I am stupid). It could also be the 12th version of the main PR of 2025. I'm not great with abbreviations and when it comes to months I'm also not used to it. Numbers seem superior to me.

Germany officially specified it for documents for a while but that was amended to also allow for dd.mm.yyyy since not enough people actually used ISO 8601.
