I like it simple. I use Jerbora on Android and can't be happier. I use duckduckgo browser and it's YouTube mode, so I have no ads, cookies, trackers or popups. It's actually close to perfect.
Compared to e.g. Discord, I feel like wasting most screen real estate for static eye candy info,... no thanks.
Well yes,.. but no, you can face significant financial burdens if someone in your family needs living assistance, such as a parent, and the state steps in to cover the costs. The law allows the state to require adult children to contribute to these expenses to a certain degree, but only after all assets of the elder or disabled person have been exhausted ("bankrupting" said person so to speak).
While this is not the same as bankrupting an entire family for life, it can indeed become a heavy financial strain if the parents were not adequately insured or financially prepared for such situations. The obligatio, however, is subject to strict thresholds and limits, such as exemptions for children earning below €100,000 annually, ensuring hardship is avoided.
Edit: "100.000k" sounds like much, but a German Dad providing for 2 kids and a stay at home wife would need this as a bare minimum to pay off the debt for the house 25km from the next medium city, in the next 20 years. No vacation outside Europe. Nothing fancy. If a parent then requires 1200€ per month, it's a massive strain.... so yeah, not bankrupting but painful.
My dad had this flight sim on his old PC! That internal speaker and the BW graphics... another one of those games was the keyboard destroyer decathlon.
Gen X had it's Part in Memes and grew up. Like tech savvy boomers, Generation X seems predominantly stuck in the middle tier of the career ladder, overshadowed by their Boomer parents. However, they maintain a benevolent and generous attitude toward younger generations. They are fully aware that they will likely never own property, and having children is a significant risk. This painful realization hit them some time ago, hence their sense of empathy. The later you're born, the more pain you inherit.
I feel.the opposite. O1 preview is really good and Gemini Premium (which I used 3 Months ago) feels like a GPT3 Turbo with Internet Access.. even offline Llama3 is better! (Subjective Obviously, what do I know)
I honestly don't know. Let's hope the best.
