  • Typical liberal/Democrat reply. "Let's just keep complaining, and offer NO answers!" Forced intervention is the only way to get those off the streets that don't want to go, and don't want to get off drugs. Sorry, but the days of "let's just try and help them by giving them space!" are over.

  • And this is why nothing is getting done in California. Liberals/Democrats want the homeless to be able to sleep/live anywhere they...who cares? Meanwhile, a homeless lady literally just overdosed and died in front of a Walgreen's where I live. But yet, those poor homeless!

  • Here we go... do you REALLY think those people roaming around are just going to voluntarily commit themselves to a mental health facility? Most of them are on drugs, they want ZERO help. Forced intervention is the only way to get them off the streets. But, liberals/Democrats will disagree with that and we'll just keep going in circles, and NOTHING gets done.

  • Republicans are in favor of programs that will get results, not programs that create government dependency. You say "we need more access to this and that..." and that's where the problems is. You want the tax payers to front millions for other people, and hope it works, while screwing us that have actually worked hard to have a normal life.

  • Something has to be done. It's getting out of control. And democrats still blame what Regan did 50 YEARS AGO. It's getting ridiculous. I'm in California, and everywhere I travel there's problems. Recently, a homeless man all drugged out came into a store I was at and bit a worker on the arm.

  • Love all the "liberal" comments. It didn't work cause of this, it didn't work cause of that..." blah, blah...the fact is, government dependency never results in successful outcomes. Giving people money (like welfare) and telling them "good luck!" only makes them more dependent and less enthusiastic to work. There's generations of people in California who have depended on welfare and food stamps for their entire lives...because it's so easy to get, and if you can keep getting it, why work?

  • Hey man, I'm all in favor in helping Ukraine, I think we should absolutely do what we need to do...as do most Republicans. However, if history has taught us anything, it's also that we cannot be an endless money pit for European affairs. I have no issues giving Ukraine money, but I think it's always a good thing to question everything.

  • "The United States needs to stop getting involved in everyone else's business" - Sincerely, The World

"The United States needs to do more to get involved in everyone else's business" - Sincerely, The World

I swear... if it's not a war that's supported by the Left, than we're all traitors for questioning the finances behind it...

  • Who cares what Russia says? They're also claiming Ukraine is rightfully there's...the point is to make sure the funds are doing what they're supposed too. If both sides just say "here, take whatever you want!" what good is that? It's about checks and balances, we don't want this to turn into another Vietnam...

  • Republicans are not against aid, and they ARE NOT in bed with the Russians. This is just ignorant talk by people on Lemmy and Reddit. Republicans want accountability about all the money that is being sent all over the fucking place. If it was up to Democrats, they'd just send, send, send...no questions asked. Keep in mind that Ukraine was once considered one of the most corrupt countries on the planet, so yea, let's just keep sending them billions and billions without making sure the money is actually being used for what it's supposed too...
