That’s the point, that’s what they want and they want good teachers to be sick of it and leave so they can either put some uncertified person in your place or none at all and keep education for private schools. Trumpy said it himself, he loved the uneducated. It’s sadly all part of their plan to keep critical thinkers at bay so they can do whatever they want and nobody bats an eye.

lol I bought some a few months ago thinking they might not be allowed some way or another after trump was sworn in. Was hoping I wouldn’t have to use them at all and didn’t think I would have to use them this quick.

I’m pretty progressive leaning and just joined .world because I had no idea what lemmy was and was tired of reddit but I thought it didn’t matter what one you joined since you can see all the other instances correct? Or am I wrong here, like if I go to All it shows pose from all instances? Have been curious why I have seen so much far left as in comrade leftist post so I guess that adds up if .world is where they mainly hang out. But again I still don’t completely understand lemmy but I enjoy it more than reddit

We lived in Oregon for a while, fairly recently and boy does the PNW have a very racist past. Back when it was the Oregon territory black people could only work there for a certain amount of years and couldn’t own land. In the 1930’s-1950’s Portland had the largest KKK organization west of the Mississippi. Had to look all this up when I saw a guy wearing a confederate flag sweatshirt at Home Depot and then saw one hanging over a driveway way up in the cascades. Portland used to be a very whites only town, wild how it has shifted. But get outside of any of the larger cities and it is thick trump country.

You also have a good chunk of southern Oregon people who are in favor of the state of Jefferson, look that up if you have time to kill lol

True once you factor that all in plus how “smart” the average American is and knowing there are less intelligent folks that make up the bottom half then I get it. I just don’t get the loss of 7 million voters for the dems from 2020 to 2024 vs the same guy. Spoonamore’s recent post about countries in AZ. Smart Elections press release they just put out.

Only posting the link to reddit because I don’t know which video the clip is from and wasn’t going to sift through Russian pundit videos. I periodically check that subreddit in hopes something does happen because as we all know trump is a Russian asset and they only want the downfall of America. He will divide us all. What we can do though is not let them win and we need to not turn against our own people, no matter how much we disagree on politics because the end result will be much worse.

I’ve been peaking back on Reddit to a few sub reddits, r/somethingiswrong2024 is the main one. There’s r/verify2024 and r/houstonwade as well that have some interesting ideas and points brought up about all this. They simply dismissed this snopes report, stating snopes had lost credibility over the past years but not sure how true that is. I don’t know if I was just getting a contact high from the copium over there, I have hope still, I want to believe there is something in the works but ultimately without concrete, indisputable, outright blatant cheating thoroughly documented, there’s not chance of overturning the election. Especially without stirring up the magats nest and causing civil unrest. So do we just stick it out for the next two years and hope we can freely vote and try to gain some sanity back into this country?

Exactly. These “Christians” are hypocrites. I’ll probably be down voted I don’t care. I haven’t hid my faith, I’m a Christian, yet progressive and these people are hiding their own desires behind a religion. It happens with all religions for sure, we just see it with Christianity predominantly here in the US. This verse is saying their reward is that others see them praying and that’s it. God isn’t rewarding them. The next verse teaches us we should pray in private and God rewards those people.

Also we just talked about Timothy 2 and our pastor made a good point the word for quiet was used in a previous verse Tim 2:2 that meant peaceful, quiet/calm life’s. Timothy calls out men and women. It doesn’t mean muzzled. Women of the time were dressing in such a way to bring attention to them at church instead of the teachings.
