  • I don't know if you realize this but when you say "you're being picky" about food in contexts such as this it can be considered ableist, and also dismissive and inconsiderate in my opinion. I prefer oatmeal to eggs but if someone told me I was "being picky" because of a choice I made because of price, sensory experience, and energy cost, I would be offended. I wouldn't say this every time the word is used but the context and your username make me think it is appropriate and you might be receptive to the feedback.

  • Lol but they are fine with reminding me constantly of the one time I bought syringes for "a friend" with addiction years ago.

Edit: to be clear I don't use Amazon anymore as of last year and this is another good reason why.

  • What do you mean by that? What I meant is that the functions, capabilities, and permissions it has could enable it to do so.

  • My opinion on this generally boils down to that the system has been set up to reward evil/antisocial behavior, and this part of the system is so entrenched and well established and organized that it has not been effectively and completely toppled or eradicated in so long, it has been able to consolidate power and resources to a point where very few extremely evil people are personally in charge of so much of what happens that it seeps into everything. Actually "seeps" is the wrong word, it's injected into everything. It's like has been said many times in recent memory, the cruelty is the point.

For a simplified example, evil executives reward evil behavior by their managers, who in turn punish their employees, who lose control of so much of their lives to these companies and managers that they end up hurting their families and friends out of confusion and anger and other complex emotional reactions, and harm is perpetuated in every area of life.

It's self sustaining, and even worse it replicates itself. In some ways I think of these systems as viruses. Also as cults. We all buy in to some degree.

  • Can you share a summary or a screenshot to make it more accessible please?

  • What about the "Android System Intelligence" app that someone else mentioned here? I just realized I have that one. It sounds like it has the capabilities to spy and maybe even more.

  • I agree, and I believe that tapping in to and participating in local networks and groups whether they be fully or partially online and/or in person is beneficial for both ones self and ones community. It seems to me it will be these networks that make much of the difference between survival of large populations and large scale disasters. Community organizing is so important.

  • Lol. "Use the laws against him!" Good idea 🙄 Its not like money buys politicians and judges and freedom in basically any place on earth when you have that much of it /s

Btw I don't know anyone who refers to Canada as "down here". Pretty sure they mean the US.

  • Lol. If you consider what they said an insult, what you said is certainly one by your own standards. Maybe don't be shitty to people for no reason if you're concerned about such things.

  • I have a condition that causes me to only get good sleep on my side, but if I sleep on my side for more than a couple hours that side really starts to ache. So yeah I'm with you

  • Yes, its being tracked in via fecal matter on your shoes.

  • It seems so. I've been buying ultra-pasteurized which may be sufficient.

  • I agree. Its also super biased. I wouldn't be surprised if it correlated with financial success in certain demographics in certain locations/communities, but like you say, it's not an objective measure of intelligence.

  • "which means it must be safe enough"

    What makes you think this?
