  • I do think touch screens kinda suck for controls but some game types would work well. Like turn based RPGs i used to play on PS2 would totally be doable on a phone.

  • Ur misunderstanding what happened. This has nothing to do with the servers. This is just a DNS issue. The URL doesnt direct to the servers correctly. But the server is still there. Running normally.

  • i just use web. phtn.app in the browser has a dark mode.

  • I have had the mullvad repo for months with no issues. Debian is actually one of their supported distros. If you tried to add their repo on mint for example it would work youd have to install it via a deb package.

  • Didnt really have anyone for it to ruin. I never cared about famous people. As for personal life relationships i have very few and the ones who support genocide were already pieces of shit before that anyway. Cant ruin somebody i already despise.

  • What exactly is it your trying to use the raspberry pi for? A better solution might just be a web UI if you just need to adjust a few things/check on it every now and then remotely. You can just use your browser to go to its IP and have a UI there.

  • The only threat to a rich person is pissing off the other rich people.

  • to be clear btw your CPU basically doesnt matter as far as i know. Just the GPU should be getting used any old CPU works. You CAN run it on a CPU but its gonna be very slow. But yeah the RX 6600 was decently cheap i got it for like 150$ so its not super expensive to run one of these models.

  • you did not specify what type of model your trying to run. like deepseekr1 has various models if your trying to run the massive ones its not gonna work. You need to use a smaller model. I have a RX 6600 and run the 14b parameter model it does well.

  • Im not a dev so idk about that tbh. But i know atleast that programs have issues with it. Its pretty good these days but some stuff still has to use Xwayland as a compatibility layer.

  • Are you actually this deluded lol Biden literally sent Isntreal all the bombs they used to turn gaza into a demolition site as Trump puts it. They laid the groundwork for what Trumps doing now, and not once did they ever attempt to stop the genocide. Which they easily could have done by simply not sending more bombs.

This isnt even a new thing. Trump just doesnt have the tact to lie about it. The US policy on Gaza hasnt changed AT ALL with the admin change. But the only thing you liberals care about is optics.

  • Maybe im wrong but with ARM being the new cpu architecture, rust being new, wayland coming into maturity, etc, it appears as though there might end up being a more x86/x11/C focused legacy kernel and a forked ARM/Wayland/Rust focused new generation one.

Which honestly im fine with. And kinda makes sense. Especially if we get into an era where stuff like x86 starts to get phased out entirely. Which i think we will in the next decade or so. Remains to be seen if thatll happen but i think theres a decent chance at this point.

  • Im not a democrat or a liberal but i figure maybe if i answer for them theyll all come along to "correct" me and get you more traction. The answer is they wont do anything. Because they are complicit and would rather support fascists than support even the most moderate leftist in the world. Also they are cowards who benefit from the system and dont want to give up their treats. They might make some symbolic gesture of fake resistance every now and then but thats about it.

  • When manfuacturers are making their new hardware they do the work of making sure whatever OS they want on it will work flawlessly. Most machines are not made with Linux in mind but the community comes in once released and does the work to get it working. If manufacturers did that work prior to release it would be fine. Companies do exist that specialize in Linux machines that do work like this.

One of the main reasons it takes so long for new stuff to get support is the linux devs doing that work themselves need access to the hardware to make it work. They arent made of money tho, and cant go buy every new piece of hardware as soon as it releases.

Its a matter of manufacturer support vs community support. Typically community support takes longer to get rolling but also lasts much longer. A combination of the 2 would be ideal, but manufacturers would have to cooperate.

  • I got those same specs for like 250$ on a used dell latitude that supports ubuntu natively lol. And runs other distros perfectly too.

  • Bruh the post is talking about politicians and political commentators/media people. Not random voters.

Also this "vote democrat but pressure them" line has never made sense. How are you pressuring them while literally voting for them. "You better start doing what i want or i might vote for you again, but i wont like it!" LOL

  • Personally im in the they came, they saw, they said "wtf", they left, camp.

I mean lets be real. If i were an alien i wouldnt wanna uplift humans. Id want us to stay on our little rock and not bring our drama to their solar system.

  • I think everyone has it wrong. Trump isnt the Hitler. Elon Musk is. Elon will run in the next election if he isnt just appointed directly. I do think theyll keep doing election and just rig them tho.
