It’s (social) media. People are drowning in propaganda that’s being pumped out on the airwaves by billionaires that own the media and tech companies. Until the wealthy people and capitalism are put in check by populism, it’ll only get worse.
The radio waves blocked by my tinfoil hat tell me two possibilities: the Republicans can always find dirt on a compromised congressperson OR it’s actually a single party run by oligarchs through managed opposition.
All governments are moving this direction as the march towards authoritarianism accelerates and it’ll take VPNs, meshnets, encryption, and other alternatives to push back.
I’m surprised everyone here is missing the obvious: he’s racist AF. Juneteenth is the holiday celebrating when word of the end of the civil war and the emancipation proclamation reached Texas. Sure he’s a lazy billionaire, but I bet this is more about him thinking black people don’t deserve a holiday. It’s implied in there by him saying non-working, he’s thinking black people are lazy.
