  • I feel as if not enough people are saying this.

Infighting is a bane. Back when I was on Reddit I got fucking downvoted into oblivion multiple times for pointing out that the Left's biggest problem, both now and historically, is how we can never agree on anything. That whatever faults the Right has, they will come together just to shit on someone else. If us on the Left stood up in unity we would be a literal human tsunami flooding the bullshit that is the Republican habitual diatribe. Second, and louder, is apathy, as you said.

Starting to wonder if throwing League of Legends level of insults at people might get them angry enough to vote just to show me what's what.

  • Maybe. Though I say we just come together, get his ass in, and then in the first year also get his ass out and let the VP or Speaker step in. Like it or not, changing now IS risky and it is arguable whether it's the better choice. I'll go with what the majority chooses because fighting against Trump and the GOP is what's important.

Let me repeat: We are in the game where we must do what the Republicans do and come together against a common enemy. So I recommend everyone agree on a candidate then shut up and checkmark that box. We can go back to verbally juxtaposing our positions through digital larping, or whatever it is we do when most of us forget politics exist for four years.

  • It's simple, yes?

We are born to live and in living eventually die. What we do during life makes no difference to us after we are gone, so far as we know. Therefore, in life we find reason to do. In doing, we find purpose. In purpose we find contentment. In contentment we find peace.

Thus life is just a goal to live the best we are able and find ways to be content in that life. This is why there isn't a universal answer: What contentment looks like changes from person to person.

  • That's not quite right. It isn't that voters on the left are quick to abandon. They are fastest at disagreeing. Which, if not checked, will lead towards a desire to abandon.

The one great weakness of the left is our inability to agree to disagree. We all want our right to be the right and will shoot ourselves in the foot to prove it.

    Post - Welcome: Irony.

If we all swallowed our disdain and moved forward together, we'd easily outstrip any efforts from the Right to win anything.

  • I swear. Around a year before every major election period the idiots spend a few months relearning how to spell check and type. We then get the same poorly considered, and poorly worded, series of blatantly Republican drivel that attempts, and fails, to explain why they're the better side.

Your side is evil. It wasn't always, it is now. One side attempts to do good, the other tries like hell to destroy good things. One is walking a marathon, the other is driving in the wrong direction in a suped up and raised truck billowing black smoke while flying a confederate and maga flag, adding up points as they run over people, with the radio turned up to America, Fuck Yeah by the D.V.D.A., with a picture of their sister in a bikini taped to the dashboard.

  • My favorite little story was while working short-term at a company. Had some issues, did my normal troubleshooting steps and Google searches, identified what I felt the issue was and knew I wouldn't have enough access to fix it. Reached out and got a response "Blah blah blaaah schedule blah blah Remote-In."

Later on he sent me a message and remotes into my computer. I take control quick, open up notepad, and type out "Hi!"

To this day I swear that little show earned me more difficult fake phishing attempts. Which I mention because he specifically told me one day he had experience in the information security sector. Lo' and behold!

  • I won't ever ask you to not be jaded. In fact, I heavily recommend being wholly pissed. Only just that...the basics should continue. We should write those letters and vote. We should also be doing much more.

So in a way I'm right there with you.

  • There's the problem. You are unwilling to compromise. Change on this scale will require either a small miracle to do overnight, or I'd guess at least a solid 10 years of hard, consistent work by people much more intelligent and decisive than myself, and that's just to set the foundation and create the outline. The first is an act of God and I don't know about you, I'd rather keep religion out of this. That leaves the second, which means compromise to achieve a greater good over a longer period of time.

You see, I don't really care about your beliefs, or anyone else's, so far as they are yours to believe in. Thus action must take the place of opinion. I asked you to commit to something and the only action you were able to take was to tell all of us that you can't stand it. That choosing between what is statistically and factually a greater evil and one that is statistically and factually attempting to be a far lesser evil, is not something you can do.

I'll tell you what I believe in, and it's pretty simple: I believe in what I feel will do good by the world and by its people. Not complete good untarnished by greed or malice, just a good that tries to do right. It doesn't matter the source of the idea; all that matters is whether it is enacted in a way that helps more than it harms. Right, left, middle, none of this means anything. Though at the moment far more malice and hatred is coming from the Red than from anywhere else.

Malcom X and MLK fought for a more equal country, at the end of the day. If their words ring true in your ears at all, it should be obvious where your support must, by necessity, move towards. Else the only way out may be more Malcoms and more Martins.

  • I mean, in the last few months I carpet bombed an executive team with a well-written email and got a response within two days. If I can get the attention of some money-grubbin, tax dodging, narcissistic, wannabe dictator types to give a shit, I am sure we can collectively manage something.

  • You know what you're doing. Taking a single radical source and using it to try and get people to pivot and engage. However, I now know you have the capacity to do a Google search. So good luck on your journey of information discovery and in challenging your beliefs. If you are fair in what you read and open-minded in what you learn, much of the time you will gain wisdom. Heck, you may even look back with some consternation at conversations and beliefs you once held. It's in those moments of self-reflection and embarrassment where many of us realize how much we've grown as people.

That said, I will say this:

Inequality exists not due to Man, though rather due to nature itself. Therefore, as Man, we must then seek to challenge nature so that we may thrive in unity. If you personally were to take the dichotomy of our modern political and sociocultural systems and challenge them to prove their efforts in supporting a more inclusive and just world, which side would you choose?

    The Red or the Blue?

One or the other. Because we both know they are not the same thing, not really, despite the words spoken by a man more than 60 years ago.

  • Hahaha, yeah, you're right, we ain't biting. :)

You could, and this is just a thought, also choose to look up the many arguments and discussions on this exact topic online, since you're so keen to explore it. Bootstraps, my friend. Gotta put in the work!

  • It's interesting, this farce and display of pride and ego. All Biden has to do is one of two things:

    1. Go all- in. Set up another debate. Make sure he's top of his game. Go full Dark Brandon and absolutely wipe the floor. Then apologize AFTER doing this for his previous bad performance. Do this right, reaaally sell it, and he'll come out the other side in a better position. Do it wrong and it'll hurt his campaign even more. Trump doesn't even have to show up. The point is giving Biden the same opportunity to step up. Toss in some late night talk shows with hard questions. When you have trust to gain back you have to work twice as hard.
    2. Be a leader and talk to us all. Put forth a nominee to take his place. Work with them on the campaign trail and truly ask all of us to step up for our Nation, as one.

AND YET we appear to be getting some silly asinine middle-of-the-road choice.

I like Biden for many of the policies and steps he and his administration have taken these last four years. They've done good and sometimes even great things, and made mistakes and done bad things too. Over all, he's been far from the worst President. Now though is the time to step aside as a leader, or rise into that position and take control.

  • Here's what I've seen and heard about Harris:

She's not white. WOMAN. ACAB. Not popular. Is popular. Can win. Can't win. Biden better. No. Polls well! Never talked about.

Please, let's split the base more while the Republicans all-in on one guy. We'll be fucked the same way we always actually are: By ourselves.
