  • This is reddit killing third party apps, because even if you did subscribe you're still not getting NSFW because reddit is taking that out of the API anyways

So who would pay literally more for less? Reddit can say all they want about supporting 3rd party but even the blind could see through them

  • Yeah same here, Reddit is my mindless scrolling app of choice, not Twitter, so when I tried to use Mastodon I just kinda stood there not knowing what to do

I love being able to read and immerse myself is specific communities and whatnot, and specifically I love Reddit for the discourse, people posting in a community, replying to posts, and replaying to those replies, and so on

So Lemmy has just become my jam, so happy that Reddit has an open source federated alternative now, even if they reverse their API debacle I'm still gonna keep using this app

  • Oh man it has been unironically great! First day I joined there was basically nothing but a meme sublemmy and a couple of tech subs too, but nowadays there are communities popping up left right and center, and I'm seeing so many familiar subs recreated on here, too

Overall my past week of using Lemmy have been phenomenal, and I'm happy to say that Lemmy has become my mindless scrolling app of choice now

    Edit: correct number of weeks

  • Kubuntu or KDE Neon 100%

Ultimately they both use the KDE Plasma desktop environment, which is the only DE I've ever seen that has a proper modern look by default (others IMO look like either the 2000's or an OS 4 Kidz), as well as being pretty featurful for multi monitor productivity

Arch+KDE Plasma is what I personally am gonna switch to this summer

  • Yeah and that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Did you know that Blender use to unironically use Shift+Ctrl+Alt+C for a surprisingly common operation?

I don't actually remember what for, 2.79 was years ago, but I think it placed the object origin at the center of the geometry
