  • I thought I'd remembered different names for it! I never made that connection though. I did try playing on Legendary this time around but it was too difficult. Halo 2 seems much harder than Reach, which was the last one I completed on Legendary. Maybe I'm just out of practice...

  • It's ok, I don't play Zelda. It's more like I think Pokémon Blue was 10 years ago old but actually it was probably gen 4 (is that called Platinum?)

... I wish I hadn't looked at Wikipedia now. Platinum was the third installment in gen 4 and that was 16 years ago. Apparently we're up to gen 9 somehow

  • Literally like a week ago the transport secretary resigned because of a fraud case from 2014.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louise_Haigh

(She says she did nothing morally wrong, and it was just an accident but was advised by her lawyer to plead guilty because she technically was guilty. She allegedly lost her phone, reported it stolen, then found the phone again so reporting it stolen was fraudulent.)

It seems a bit dumb to me, and it was over 10 years ago so who cares, but she stepped down because she thought that the whole scandal surrounding that the media kicked up was more trouble than its worth to the new Labour government. So actually maybe she didn't resign out of shame? Hmm..

Well, I've typed all this out now so I'll let you all decide what to think of it haha

  • If there's enough profit to turn the CEO into a billionaire, there's also enough profit to pay the workers more. Certainly, as you've said, things could be worse and there's plenty of bad examples, these workers were still being underpaid relative to the value they produced

  • Why do you think it's ethical that he get so much of the profit instead of the people who made the goods he's selling, or the people working in his shops?

Edit: hopefully that didn't sound too rude

  • Most landline phones for sale in the UK need external power, I would say. Either they are a base station with a wireless handset, or they have an answering machine, or phonebooks and other functionality that needs extra power. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I don't really see "just a phone" any more. Not that I've purchased a phone in like 8 years

  • If there was a murderer who liked murdering people with blue jackets in your area, and you choose not to wear a blue jacket -- is that a sign that you know you're guilty, or just that you don't want to be murdered?

  • He trained from what, 8 years old until 20? They could have taught him to deal with emotions healthily instead of just saying "emotions bad, Jedi good". There's plenty of real-life examples of troubled people becoming healthy with the love and support of their family

  • MAP (which you can see at the top of some of the posts) stands for minor attracted persons - aka paedophiles. And let's be honest, if a paedophile was seeking help with their sexual feelings then they wouldn't go around advertising themselves on Facebook. These people are clearly either active child abusers or wish they had the opportunity to abuse children
