Nintendo is well-known for using emulation in its own products, such as “Virtual Console” releases and the “NES/SNES Classic”. They just don’t like people playing their games in ways they didn’t decide on.
I’ve had someone repeatedly put my email as their spouse’s email in important situations. I’ve replied multiple times asking them to stop but they keep doing it.
I have the same name as their spouse, but you’d think you’d know your spouse’s email, or at least talk to them about it when you get a reply saying it was the wrong email!
It’s not that Take Two bought the game, they bought the publisher of the game. The devs wanted to submit an update, which they normally would do by sending it to their publisher. But now their publisher no longer exists, so they send they want to send their update to Take Two, but apparently some red tape is in the way.
Idk what the “learning curve” is. It’s not really harder to use than Photoshop for basic things IMO. If you want fancy AI tools Photoshop is better but GIMP does have some.
