  • It's rarely ever possible to fix something that is fundamentally and compositionally flawed. No one is arguing that it's easier. They're arguing that it's necessary.

Always looking for what's easy instead of what's necessary is part of how we got here in the first place.

  • People wonder how Trump voters could vote for someone that's going to be so damaging to America, but ironically, you're just the flip side of a Trump voter and embody the answer to that question.

And I'm not hating on you, I'm just saying that if we could combine this dissatisfaction on both sides Voltron style, maybe we could get somewhere.

  • Is there even any question he wins the popular vote? Incidentally, it's worth noting that Trump is likely to end up with roughly the same amount of votes as he did against Biden in 2020. It's just that Harris will end up with like 12 million less than Biden got.

  • The democrats have been taking ethnic and racial minorities, women, and the working class for granted for decades. The slow erosion got faster, and now they got what they deserved. With no viable alternative on the left, they turned to the right. And now the democrats are slowly becoming the party of self-loathing white privilege, and they feel comfortable saying that it's "straight-up BS" that poor people matter. Poors, blacks, browns, and uteruses are just supposed to vote Democrat no matter what, right? That's what my privileged, white, college-educated friends tell me anyway. The dems got kicked in the teeth, and (almost) everyone's going to suffer for it.

  • Social Security has shifted far from its original intent. It was once a system where your taxes were set aside and invested, creating a fund for your own retirement. But over time, the baby boomer generation began drawing heavily from these reserves, turning what was meant to be a self-sustaining system into a pay-as-you-go model. Now, instead of relying on their own invested contributions, Social Security is sustained largely by taxing the younger generations to fund the retirees, shifting the burden and undermining the system's original promise. This approach leaves younger generations on the hook, fueling concerns about the system's long-term viability.

  • Basically democrats are losing: the youth, minorities, and the working class. They're gaining among white college-educated. They're also mildly gaining among women, but they were already the party of choice for non-white women. Crazy to see the democrats becoming the party of white privilege.
