  • The funny consequences about labeling everything as an act of rebellion is that everything suddenly becomes an act of rebellion. The door opens and now we have to deal with rebels everywhere.

ICE cant be everywhere getting everyone because there is a fucking rebellion, so that means there are captured rebels in court, on trail, with jurors ... when the rebels start getting found not guilty by their local courts they are no longer rebels ... what are they? Revolutionists.

  • No, I perceive the past. It is just not editable.

You miss the point. I'm saying you could never be in two bodies at once ... thus when a copy is made (transporter, cloning, transfer to a digital backup program, etc) ... the original dies. The copy is not the original ... unless logic dictates that a mind can be in two bodies at once ... which it does not.

  • There is an easy logic test to see if a person's "mind" is really in a clone/copy/backup. If the original and the copy exist at the same time would the original perceive itself in two places? If not, then that "exact copy" method doesn't work ... the original just dies and a near copy is made. Someone mentioned the zombie theory earlier in the post ... just about as creepy.

  • Nope. If it makes a perfect copy of you during transport ... you die during the transport.

If you come through with a transporter clone your original mind doesn't inhabit both of them ... so your original mind will not inhabit either of them.

  • The US does operate on the principle that companies should actually have limits on how far they can grow. This was set forth in the Sherman Act of 1890. The fact that it was not there at the founding of the country, embedded in the constitution, is probably a contributing factor on why the US is falling into corruption today. The main cause is of course political parties, which should have been made illegal. George Washington predicted our current future in his exit speech when he said that political parties would be the downfall of the US ... he was right.

  • The corporations could not get their heads wrapped around the internet at first. They needed to deal with nerds and computer geeks to get anything done. These same people that they had kicked around and laughed at for being useless now had to be brought into boardrooms for product discussions. Then the dot com crashes happened and corporations learned that all of those people were not Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. All of these gave the internet an extended era that felt a bit like the "Wild West". AOL internet was a commercial product that got mauled constantly because it hired average skilled programmers, the really ingenious programmers were the ones developing Instant Message based "punters" and program crashing email "bombs".

  • This is how the USA works now. Not just unethical companies and monopolies but super monopolies and upright evil companies. If you ever want to make yourself mad Google EssilorLuxottica, it is the largest eyeglass manufacturer, sunglass manufacturer, eyeglass retailer ... and believe it or not it also owns Eyemed eye insurance. It's not the biggest eye insurance company ... yet.

  • I'm arguing that they should not have voted on it. They voted with Republicans. There is no way the Republicans would have tolerated their people doing that. They have censured them for it in the past.

  • AI doesn't really create, it just copies and does style "mash ups". Right now people notice AI being weird and out of place. Eventually people will start to notice AI getting stale and repetitive instead.
