It’s just a war about a magical sky God, and his magical holy land
Really?
You have a population of Palestinians living their lives -religion irrelevant, until the British went "yeah, sure you can have a patch of land there - it's their land but we 'own' it and what we say goes".
Then Israel had a war and illegally claimed vast stretches of land that doesn't belong to them to this day, and keeps on killing the remaining population that does live there and settling on the land that remains.
You could remove religion from the entirely. It's the fact that for almost 100 years, the Palestinian people have had invaders illegally settle on their land and be unable to repel them as they've got the backing and support of the major world powers to let them commit genocide. Trivialising it in the way you have done helps no one because it masks important history behind "religion bad".
You kill people constantly with the intent of eliminating them and you're going to create a rebellious force from that population. Are they terrorists? In the eyes of the Palestinians, they're most likely just brothers and sons who have lost their family in their youth, denied education and a chance at childhood and have grown up around war and are convinced their action is the only way to stop it. To us, sure, they're terrorists. But I doubt anyone 'sheltering' Hamas is doing so out of fear and likely just sheltering family.
You know as well as anyone that this has NOTHING to do with Hamas.
Their strategy of indiscriminate bombing would not be the answer if they wanted to kill Hamas only. There's absolutely no regard for civilians here. They're not destroying Hamas. They're eradicating the population of Palestine. Anyone who lives will rightly join Hamas and after this, honestly I can see why.
You're right. No one should trust the IDF. War crime after war crime. They're the worst plague on the planet since Isis, but actually have the backing of major world powers because they got their guys to weasel into the top of every nation's government.
Anyone speaking out against their narrative, from the UN to newspapers are being cancelled.
These are Gazans. They're not trained Hollywood actors dude. Look at the grief on their faces. That's REAL. If it's not real in this picture (for whatever reason), it's real in thousands more. The stats alone show how many people have had to hold their dead children in their arms like this.
It's disgusting. It's Genocide. No people who suffered at the hands of Nazis in WWII, should ever perpetrate this kind of hell on someone else. Israel has forgotten everything. Their ancestors would be ashamed.
Even if this is true, which... I mean I have no salt left anymore...
That would be the target you want to take out. But no, that refugee camp, that school with children in it? Yeah that's the target because.. uhh "Hamas are using civilians as shields".
Even if you halved them, the casualties and dead on Gaza's side are atrocious. When such a high proportion of the population are children, of course they will be.
Just think about how many hospitals were bombed, and how aid is being limited. They want the injured to have no hope of being treated and die agonizing deaths.
Children are being treated without clean equipment and anesthesia FFS.
It was Hamas who killed those children and women in Gaza.
Omg this is a new one. There's a level of delusion you need to cross beyond which there's a point of no return. Beyond that boundary are thoughts like this.
I mean looking at it upon first glance, it looks fine?
I mean, what's "10 years old" anyway? "Vampire Survivors" came out in 2023, has retro graphics and plays really well. Arkham City came out in 2011 and still holds up well graphically today, especially considering Gotham knights is a thing lmao.
I'm not too crazy about the look of the game, but it has to play well. Starfield feels like an old game to play because all those loading screens aren't something I'm expecting in 2023. The cumbersome inventory management and poor decisions make it feel like it came out over 10 years ago.
A lot of scrutiny on this title. Any criticism will be well deserved, good or bad.
Things got busy so I haven't been active for a while. I'm sorry waiting for my reply kept you up at night long enough that you were compelled to make a follow-up response /s
I doubt you smashed my post though. I'm not on Lemmy to 'score points' either. I want to advise, learn and be educated on topics that interest me.
Others seemed to disagree with you so I'm not holding my breath lol, though in a well reasoned argument, there are always good points made on both sides and I'd be interested to get back to you on that.
I'm sure there is a strong correlation between social distancing and incidence rates of COVID. New Zealand did well to demonstrate that, despite a smaller population. I don't believe it caused the virus to evolve. I do believe it caused the virus to devolve though; the virus kept mutating, but the most virulent stains coincided with the toughest social distancing measures. Nowadays the strain of COVID affects only the most vulnerable, and to most, its symptoms are akin to a cold, and therefore social distancing measures aren't necessary.
Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be if this sucks?
There's no way a game announced 10 years ago, is still 'up to date' today. Games have changed. Gaming itself has changed and Squadron 42 will be judged by those modern standards. If it isn't perfect (with the money and time spent on it, it better be at least free of major bugs and with a significant story element etc) then RSI is heading for probably the most embarrassing incident in gaming history.
Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth. All they have is civilian infrastructure! By your definition, they shouldn't be allowed to retaliate at all if they didn't want to risk civilian deaths.
Israel is bombing hospitals, schools and civilian houses with dozens and dozens of reports of children and innocent civilians being horrifically murdered as a result.
That's what this is all about. Terrorist settlers in the West Bank are clearing out villages by walking about to people and shooting them at point-blank range, with soldiers only a few feet away, just watching and not reacting. They're not even 'at war' and those terrorists are clearing Palestinian Territory.
This is simply and truly a Nazi-esque genocide, conducted by people whose grandparents likely witnessed those horrors first hand. They should know better.
Over 1000 children alone have been brutally murdered by the terrorist nation of Israel since they declared this war only a few days ago.
They're doing to Palestine what the Nazis did to them, only this time the world is watching and not even looking away. They're encouraging it, and even sending in resources to help them do it, and punishing people for even speaking out against it.
They don't deserve to even mention Auschwitz after this. There are plenty of Jews out there who are opposed to it whose sympathies about WWII will forever stay with us. But not these... Copycats.
It's sad but she just wasn't able to do well in any of the tasks. She was too ambitious with the toilet idea, and just missed the mark with the raspberry ganache. She was an awesome sport though!
I was the same. Reading all these Lemmy posts thinking "with my Firefox and uBlock I'm still cruising YouTube ad free" until last night when I finally saw this. Refreshing the filter list on uBlock does the trick but it sucks that it requires closing all your tabs. There were so many things I queued up that I was never going to get to, now I don't even know what they were!
I could've bookmarked the tabs into a single tab folder and then restored them once I refreshed? Yeah I don't care that much, but I do do that on occasion.
The IGN review seemed quite tough on the title. Apparently terraforming is required in order to create aesthetically pleasing cities; you need to build on perfectly flat land, or else your buildings will warp and look terrible.
As someone who really enjoyed getting down to street level to see how things looked from the citizens' perspective, this sucks. It's not a deal-breaker though and on Gamepass I could see myself picking it up and giving it a try
