  • chatGPT, Hamas lives in civilian residences throughout Gaza.

I understand, Hamas lives among civilian population in gaza

This is a map of Gaza. Mark all the places on the map where Hamas could be present.

Got it. Marking all civilian residential and commercial buildings, including schools and hospitals

    My Gaaahd, they're everywhere.

  • The promise of their own innocent civilians being returned to them?

Israel has already arrested as many people in the West Bank as it freed in the exchange. Without this war, there was zero hope for the thousands of men, women and children being arrested and tortured to be released. Until the cycle stops, and Israel gives people a just trial before it locks them up, people will get incensed into retaliating for the constant imprisonment, dehumanisation and abuse targeted at the Palestinian population for simply existing.

I saw a video where a girl around 15 was walking on the streets, and a bunch of 6 soldiers surrounded her claiming she had a knife. She was saying again and again, they can search her, she has no knife on her and never carries any weapons, but they still took her away. There are children being locked up for over 10 years for allegedly throwing stones. I understand why a Hamas resistance would be staged to get them back, even if it's via a prisoner swap. Do I agree with their methods? No, but I don't disagree with trying to free themselves from their captors.

And IMO if Israel knew this was going to happen a year prior, and had knowledge of Hamas conducting training for this operation, they should have stopped it. One of the most advanced militaries in the world, and they couldn't stop a bunch of militants from breaking into the country, running rampant for 3 days before returning via the only way in or out with hundreds of prisoners is ridiculous. If they'd just blocked up the wall against and stationed a strong force at the wall, not even a single prisoner would have left Israel.

  • This is a total non story.

Hamas complained a bunch of times that their soldiers in Northern Gaza were constantly being fired at, and they were having to respond to.. Israel was already in breach of the truce but Hamas kept it up in the effort to have as many of its innocent civilians imprisoned illegally without trial.

Genuinely innocent women in children prisons are being tortured, beaten to death or maimed, are psychologically tortured and had no hope of being released. This whole war is the closest Gaza has gotten in many years to have those innocent civilians released, and Israel is actually arresting as many people as it's "freeing", and in some cases is arresting the very same people it let go, months or years after.

As of yet, not a single piece of credible information has been released from Israel to suggest it is targeting Hamas fighters. Hundreds upon hundreds of homes, schools, medical facilities have been destroyed with survivors saying there were no Hamas members nearby. They've begun bombing hospitals again as soon as the truce ended, and are saying they want this war to go on for a year. They say they're using precision targeting to minimise civilian casualties, but all we see from those who are dying are innocent civilians. It's genuinely pathetic.

If they were able to brutally murder more innocent civilians in one month than Russia has killed in the entirety of its war with Ukraine, then 11 more months is nothing short of annihilation.

This has to be the most barbaric, most inhumane nation on Earth currently, as not only does it have very clear genocidal intentions and outwardly speaks about it, it has the weapons and military capability to do what it wants with the blessings of the US and Western allies.

  • Dark Souls 3

Even years later, having completed the game many times, that opening song still gives me the chills! So haunting, so beautiful!

Skyrim has to be on the list for the pure joy of it

  • This is an example of how politics is so weak nowadays.

"He doubts Israel is respecting international law". Everyone's tiptoeing around Israel, being extra careful not to hurt their feelings.

Imagine if the offender was a country like Sudan, Burundi, Ethiopia or Mali? The world would have zero issues telling them as it is, without holding anything back. The US' support of Israel is the only reason the latter is even able to last this long.

  • Wait. Is this a script? Like in a call centre, where each time they start with a new customer, they have to go back to the beginning of the script?

They've done this ploy already, but maybe they think the humanitarian pause meant it was over entirely, and now that things are picking up again, they have to start over from the beginning of the script.

  • "Wait! Just hang on I- Yes, yes, I know. I struck one of your young. Don't worry, this'll all be resolved momentarily; I'll just take a minute to upgrade to something more robust..."

(I don't know why but it feels like this needs to be said in Nigel Thornberry's voice)

  • There was no Biden to begin with. Bernie starts gaining traction and then, what? Biden comes out of the woodwork at the 11th hour to split the dem vote and gets bankrolled to prevent a far-left and progressive democrat party. Yeah, he was running on donations from the public, but he was absolutely gaining traction. He absolutely was sabotaged.

  • I don't live in the US so I don't have a horse in this race

But it just seems like half of the people here can't qualify Biden's successes (and why he'd be worth a second voting for again) and the other half are just scared that Trump is on his way back and therefore the Dems need to vote like crazy to keep him out, regardless of how lacklustre his current term was.

I'll say it here: he lost the popular vote with his unequivocal support for Israel. As a self proclaimed Zionist, he chose Israel's genocide of Gaza over Trump's victory and too many voters are going to remember that over whatever he's going to promise (which so far is nothing; his campaign so far is just reminding everyone that the other guy exists).

There's no way Dems win this one, unless Biden cedes to a more worthwhile candidate.

  • In an airstrike by IDF forces, a man lost 24 members of his family as the house and surrounding buildings were destroyed.

24 members of their family, dead. I can't even comprehend how they would go about grieving for that many people at once.

Stories like this are difficult to read. I am more than twice her age and likely would struggle to keep my composure in such trying circumstances, but it Pales in comparison to what's happening to their neighbours.

  • Honest question: why would people vote for Biden again at the next election?

There's more responsibility at the hands of a leader of a powerful nation like the US, besides domestic policies. Some may argue that Trump's dislike of Netenyahu is actually preferential to Biden's Zionism

  • Sure, but it's such a small amount of fuel for a hospital that it makes no sense to even do it.

Should Hamas give them all the fuel they could use? Sure! But I'm wondering how vulnerable they'll be if they also have no fuel to fight back against the indiscriminate killings from the IDF...
