Goddamn, Tiktok and that guy... We're reaching new lows here.
Anyway I'd like to remind EVERYONE of the no politics rule. Memeing is fine, but nobody better be nasty to other people or even the politicians, as useless as the Galactic Senate is.
Why is everyone so defensive about this? I was using Slide and Infinity on Reddit for years, I was familiar with them - and now I'm using something else. I adapted.
In fact I use a multitude of things, right now a
I'm writing from the native PWA. Later I'll switch to Jerboa or Liftoff or maybe I'll be testing Infinity.
Yea people unwilling to adapt, try new things, unable to see the entire point of this network, and instead just running to the "familiar" without looking around and trying to understand what's actually happening - yes, it is a small peak to society, because we see the same behaviour in all aspects of life.
No it doesn't. There have beem tons of foss apps better than paid apps, and also the other way around. It doesn't mean anything regarding the quality of the project.
As a user, the only thing you can be sure about, is that if the developer of a closed app gets hit by a bus, a stranger can't just pick up the development. Other than that nothing is certain.
It's bizarre to me how, on this decentralised and FOSS platform with a ton of clients already available, people have been only waiting for the closed source one (with ads and payment to boot if I'm not mistaken?).
To each their own, but it's still a sad state of society.
They don't have to subscribe, but somebody has to have searched specifically for that community, so kinda yes.
People here promote scripts and bots so that an instance gets automatically subbed to new communities - which ok, but then which small instances really want to mirror the whole Fediverse? Most will run out of hard drive space, and we're back at square one.
Everything is stupidly difficult to repair these days. Just today I watched repair videos of Samsung Fold 4 and the old Razr, and it honestly didn't seem much worse than any other phone. At least you don't need fucking lasers to remove the backplate like on iPhones.
It's one bandwagon I'd like Apple to jump on. Whenever Apple makes something, everyone else has to do the same (only better and cheaper). So once there's an iFold for 4000 $€£ or something, a year later every noname brand will have a 300 $€£ foldable.
For what purpose? If you like it for a wallpaper out whatever... Sure?
