  • It's honestly very little work to implement a way for a game to be offline... Basically just remove the method that checks for a server and that's it...

What could be a bit more costly would be releasing server implementations so people can host their own game servers, but it should still be expected... Actually it wouldn't be that hard IF it's taking into account from the get go coz you can just release the last release before being shut down and that's it

  • I agree. Their solution for everything is FOSS and like... No sometimes people don't want an alternative for what they're talking about they want the actual thing they're talking about

  • I mean, it ain't bad, it's fun(I'm on mission 13-14), it's still a Doom game. But it's definitely the weakest of the last 3 games.

The Atlan is a cool concept but it's just slow combat, the dragon sections are okay I guess but not groundbreaking.. The overall combat itself is fun, but it's somehow less visceral than the other two games, glory kills are basically gone and you just do a melee attack most of the time... I honestly enjoyed Eternal much more, it's combat made you use the mechanics in a better way

  • I agree, I like both, but Eternal does force you to use most of your weapons and other systems continuously, like having to use demons as piñatas. The DLC is brutal, I remember having to stop for a breather after a particular spot because it was too hectic, I was bouncing around the level trying to kill everything but also basically always being at the brink of death, pure adrenaline . 2016 is not bad either, is just a good game overall, it captures the same feeling as the original games, it's slower, but it's still damn enjoyable, and that's also ok.

I just started The Dark ages yesterday and it DOES feel more bland vs eternal IMO (at least the first level), and the shield homing attack seems dumb to me IMO, but it's still simple fun being an unstoppable demon slayer

  • Exactly.

This is why I'm happy I work for a Family owned company. They know some years revenue just won't be bigger and that's ok. I've only seen like one wave of "layoffs" and even then most of the people that left just took an early retirement deal coz they were going to retire that year anyways, so that basically fixed the re organization that needed to happen

  • It isn't my cup of tea, what bothers me is the EXTREME overhype. It's not normal.

Literally EVERY social media I have has posts of people analyzing frame by frame of a stupid trailer, like... Wtf.

I get people being excited, but it's a trailer, it's not the next coming of Jesus

  • Because the game isn't even out and the people are treating it like the next coming of Jesus.

Their games are "Fine", but for some reason people just go absolutely nuts over the same bland mindless gameplay from 13 years ago.

  • Am I the only one who absolutely hates GTA?

It's bland as fuck and somehow people go and fucking play the same shitty mechanic game for hundreds of hours for 13 years, not even mentioning the fact that they buy it 3 fucking times.

It's not even out and I already absolutely hate this game and how everyone is hyping it to be next coming of Jesus when it's going to be EXACTLY the same as the other ones with crappy storyline and a basic af gameplay

  • Yeah me too. Honestly I like knowing that I CAN use it if needed, specially if there's an obscure IT question I might need help with. But having it on a whole other phone let's me not want to use it because it would mean having a whole other device to take care of battery and ughh you lost me there , so that's my compromise, I keep it on my desk turned off until needed

  • I just found out about this too, but on Samsung phones you can install an app on the "secure folder" and that's basically another device ID so even if you install the app there it doesn't ban you.

Recently changed my phone, and while my new phone is completely reddit free, I tried this "secure folder" thing on my old phone(installed the official app via apk but patched to remove ads) that already was banned with a completely new account and so far it's working well, I've left a few comments and such and haven't been shadowbanned.

Now I'll probably won't post or do much on it anyways, I'm committing to use it less and less, but I can't really confidently say that Lemmy fills out all communities as Reddit does

  • Honestly that's how I got here lol.

Tried it out when the API changes were announced, but let's be real, Lemmy doesn't have as much content or user interaction.

It's allowed me to stop doom scrolling as much, but I do miss some niche communities

  • Reddit @lemmy.world

    Hopes in getting acc back?
