I doubt any published info will reflect reality.

I work for a mid size telco. VoIP has been the predominate method for voice communications going on 10+ years it was just behind the scenes.

Those of us in our mid-50s aren't exactly happy either right now.

Civics and economics are two subjects that aren't treated with the rigor they should be in American high schools. Both subjects are usually taught by coaches as a placeholder to give them a faculty job so they can be on the coaching staff.

I'm reading this and thinking "this can't be real". How did we end up here? I really don't get it.

It's a podcast on iHeartMedia by Robert Evans. I usually watch it on YouTube. He does these deep dives into "Bastards" from history and current day.

I know what you mean. There have been several episodes that I either didn't start or didn't finish for that reason The RFK Jr episodes are very recent. He was still a presidential candidate so I guess it's from about 5 months ago. Definitely worth a listen.

Did you listen to the RFK Jr Behind the Bastards episodes? They were fascinating and explain why he is the way he is.

That's probably what happened. However the job description as written was kind of silly.

Back when I was still on Reddit I remember someone sharing a job posting calling for 10 years of experience in a 5 year old language. I don't know if it was real or not but it's typical of the crazy requirements for those jobs.

As an American I hope that Canada will stay strong and stand up to him. Someone needs to- there is no one in the US willing so do so except Bernie and he's 84. Godspeed and good luck

I didn't watch it. I just can't listen to him speak for more than about 30 seconds. The gibberish and gish-gallops are just too much for me to handle. I usually try to find a transcript after the fact.

Once I got in touch with someone they were helpful and professional. They're just so understaffed you can't speak to someone. The first three times I tried to call tye system message was basically "There is no more room in the queue. Please try again later. You will be disconnected now." And I was.

My preparer didn't e-file and I didn't find out until 9 months after the due date. I had paid the taxes due electronically and had all the receipts so the IRS agreed I didn't owe them. They just wanted me to file. Five years since the first notice and I still don't have a final status. I'm guessing a lot of people simply won't pay or file if they cut the staffing that much.

Here's the kicker. The IRS won't accept mail with a return response. You can send it and track it but you can't be sure anyone actually received it. That happened on one of my attempts to send it via mail. It was received the second time.

It's dysfunctional now. I've been dealing with a problem with my 2018 return because of mistake by my preparer. I tried multiple times over a two year period to reach someone on the phone with no success. On my last attempt I got to a person after 1 hour 45 minutes on hold. I sent the requested documents in November 2024 and still haven't received so much as an acknowledgement in the mail.

None of the ones in my circle have recognized it nor do I think they will. They're going down and taking the rest of us with them.

Probably only in certain states. I don't see most red states implementing something like this.
