  • If you want to retain top talent, pay them, give them better working conditions, offer them fulfilment. Don't make it illegal for them to work elsewhere.

We need free markets and deregulation... until it inconvenieniences non-productive shareholders in the slightest or those dirty workers start getting a little uppity.

  • FWIW, I had a similarish experience with my local Craigslist equivalent (Gumtree)... They had a security breach, which led to my barely-used account being hacked by someone that was posting (I assume) fake car listings.

I reported it to them, and their response was to blacklist me. No great loss - why would I want to use a platform that badly managed. I later worked with one of their mid-level managers from that period, and yeah-it was an absolute shitshow there.

  • It's almost as though massive wealth consolidation and the maintenance of an economic underclass as we prioritise unproductive shareholders over productive workers is bad for the economy.

    Who'd have thought?

  • You didn't consider the crust ratio, did you?

The crust tends to be a consistent width, so it represents a greater portion of a smaller pizza, shrinking the bit most people are there for.

...but hey, if you love the crust just as much, more power to ya!

  • Sure - invent a time machine that any idiot only you can use without any special knowledge - interface is date here, push button or similar.

If it breaks? Wait 14 days on average.

When you can do anything, the only limit is your imagination. You're god with a cooldown, and even the cooldown quickly becomes trivial.

...You'd succeed at trying to commit something to memory permanently.

...You'd succeed at creating and moving to a perfect universe (or reshaping this one) in the space of 5 minutes.

  • Kids throwing rocks at the people operating the open air concentration camp they're detained in with the food, water, power, trade and movement restricted (at best) as Israel levels their homes, displaces and kills them? You're right - I think there's far bigger concerns than the kids throwing rocks.

What do you think it says about you that you'd use a few kids throwing rocks as justification for shooting, shelling, bombing, and starving thousands of children, innocent civilians, and turning every building in the area into said rocks?

  • It's functionally a wish every 4 weeks, and you know if you'll succeed or not before you attempt whatever it is.

Win the lottery, invent time travel, learn to fly, solve world hunger, conquer the universe, create the other artifacts...

  • I've got no interest in running down every warcrime of a country that's committing them out in the open, and has a decades-long history of committing this exact warcrime, lying about it, promising not to do it again, then repeating the process while spouting genocidal rhetoric and killing thousands of children.

    Zero credibility.

  • Israel has a history of doing exactly what we're talking about, lying about it, and promising not to do it again, before repeating the cycle.

I suspect this in the same way that I suspected Russian's "border-adjacent exercises" then "special military operation" were a*similarly thinly veiled excuse for an invasion - it's very clear what's happening from a clear pattern of behaviour that spans decades.

I may be more charitable if Israel's treatment of the Palestinian population wasn't indiscriminately hostile and deadly, and their rhetoric so genocidal. They're also committing war crimes by cutting off food water, power, trade and movement - Palestinians are now being starved to death.

Israel is doing what they've said they want to, she have done in the past - I don't understand why you'd even try to defend this.
