  • I'm quite enjoying it too but I think it borders on horror with the themes of where the modern world will end up.

  • Mr Bean is pretty universal no matter the audience. I quite enjoyed Blackadder but I also enjoy history and have grown up on exported British television so I could keep up with the it. Not sure as many could like Mr Bean. Still is amazing the cast and what they did after Blackadder.

  • I've not made it through the first season. It is so cringe to me at this point. It does get better then?

  • Locally Wendy's is the only one really still doing a value menu. A couple of junior cheese burgers with some veggies and I'm getting close to the price of 1 burger elsewhere. That's a decent quick meal for me on the go. The worst pricing is A&W. They are the most expensive around now. They do have the upsell with the 100 grass fed no antibiotics line but it's still a fast food joint. A single burger shouldn't be costing almost a 10 spot with taxes.

Then I think I'm getting old as I recall the outrage of my parents and grandparents about how much the cost of everything was out of control while things were shrinking.

  • Wasn't aware it was available for Linux. I'll check it out

  • I'm a Greenshot user here. Similar ability to edit and customize default actions when hitting print screen. It's the one thing I miss in Linux

  • I was shocked at my first business breakfest with a American customer a number of years ago. At 7am while I drank coffee, he was guzzling down Coke. It was the first of the 4 he had each day. He usually cut himself off after lunch he said.

  • Same here, I was wondering if there was some last remnant of Pebble watches still running for a second there.

I miss my Pebble too. I went to a Galaxy Gear S3 for a few years before ending up at a Fossil hybrid smart watch with a ink screen that gives me several days of battery life like my Pebble Steel use to have. It's ok but it's no Pebble.

  • I think the TV series Upload is nailing a lot of the future we will all be in store for and how everything will be pay as we go and for those that can't pay, the fee free life is going to be pretty limited and full of ads for the little we can do.

  • The party of "law and order" and "just comply" have no issues with assaulting and killing police officers?

  • Another article I read looking at things from his parent's pov, thinks he likes to gamble, and there was a small chance he could walk free like OJ and despite that chance being so small he went for it.

Usually people take the deal to plead guilty to save family and friends the ordeal of testifying in court. He seemed to not care about this.

As with most parents they often think their child is innocence and still the 3 year old they once knew. The article covered how that has been shattered now without a doubt after this case. The appeals should be interesting and where they have left to go after this sh8tshow from the defense. The father might be pulled further into this next...

  • I'm currently reading a marketing book from the early 90s at it uses Mr Dump's empire as examples of failures on a few fronts from brand extension to the failure of ego and the impact on proper marketing. His bankruptcies are also mentioned along with the huge brass T he had in his office.

It's amazing to me how much of a Turnip he has been for so long and how far he has gotten despite it all. Having his father's money certainly helped him keep going as most normal people do not get that many get out of jail cards.

Unfortunately his escapades could lead to further deaths than what we have seen so far. Still I can't get how this guy is a savior to so many despite the "teachings" of their good books...

  • Not the best show by any means due to pacing and scenes that just don't flow at times but I find Upload to be a realistic horror show of the modern world ahead for us and future generations. The poverty in the new world is a little too realistic for me along with how filtered the world becomes especially without money. They have really nailed some of these aspects while taking shots at what I would call the Amazonification of the world. I'm surprised Amazon is allowing it. Enshitification of the world plays out too.

The hat tipping of the world ahead is more subtle than that of Travellers. The latter was dealing with a horrific future world of survival due to a lack of those today giving a crap about the future which might not be worse than a shift of reality like Upload is trying to portray. Both are real horror shows to me beyond the usual stab stab, guts, blood of many shows today.

Beyond these current interests it's the usual suspects of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Mr Robot, Deadwood, Dead Like Me, IT Crowd, Mad Men, first season of American God's, Community...

  • It was great. Sad it's already over. It will be interesting if there are spin offs.

  • Maybe not for them, technically they have adapted and overcome. They might even be thriving despite of it...

  • The same thing is going on with Google Play gift cards. I've lost $150 not understanding how difficult it is to correct any issues with redeeming them as they don't have phone support for them, only automated email.

Since I have rocks in my head I tried 13 times to get the issue fixed with photos of the card and the receipts. The store were they were bought washed their hands of it saying there's no refunds on gift cards. It was ridiculous and I had to give up. I needed to do charge backs on my credit card and I can never redeem a gift card on my google accounts again.

Reading online it happens often where people buy them in a grocery store with cash and are unable to redeem them and there is no recourse. Google is keeping millions of dollars of unused Google Play cards. At least there was a class action lawsuit at one point in California about it. Not sure if it's gotten anywhere. This is when I think government intervention is needed.

  • Same here on the carbs. I notice when I eat after 6pm it's going to affect me with either a not great sleep and the need for bathroom break(s) through the night. Low intake of sugar throughout the day I sleep much better and more soundly.

When I did Atkins many years ago, it was some of the best sleep I ever had. It was like I was a teenager again that could sleep all day and night.
