Beyond the emotions which are stoked from these practices, we are seeing technology help refine these practices for business purposes at a rate never seen before.
It can really tilt the table to one's favor quickly. We are seeing these refinements in investing, markets, and pricing practices too.
It will be interesting to see how it continues as the efficiencies are squeezed out of these processes and what is left after.
Reading the article, she threatened to weaponize Snapchat by blasting out his statutory r*pe conviction from 10 years ago as a defense along with mental health issues territory. He already had a restraining order against him territory too.
So this is about suing the agency out of existence?
With the shenanigans that have gone on with Twitter since being bought with the not paying of staff severance, vendors, or landlords, it's getting like those that deal with Trump. I wonder if the Musk legal team will be paid?
I'm all for reasonable free speech. It should fall within the guidelines of how yelling FIRE! in a movie theater has consequences if people are hurt by it. Misinformation falls into this category if it hurts the general public with a purposeful lack of moderation.
It's not been a total lack of moderation.. There are reports of moderation occurring over things Musk doesn't like and amplification of the things he wants (especially his tweets) in the algorithm that benefits him, so I'm not sure the defense of total free speech is a honest one here.
At the end of the day the misinformation, and horrible inaccurate things shared on Fox News, Rumble and Truth social are much worse and they seem to get a free pass with the we are entertainment defense so none of this really seems to matter?
If the lawsuit sees the light of day over the next several years it will be interesting how if it changes anything for the better or worse. Perhaps it won't matter by then as we will be in the next phase of the New American Order and going after one's internal enemies will be condoned as good patriotic practices...
It seems to also be a switching task issue in our minds. These changes of states takes more effort than playing the next video does or just keeping on what we are doing. It's so much easier for us to keep playing the digital dopamine slot machine that, TikTok, instagram reels, Facebook and YouTube short videos provide.
From a business sense they want to keep your attention, from a biology sense we are safe and don't see a need to move with the random rewards another quick video offers.
It's amazing how well they have refined getting and keeping our attention. We also get rewarded with dopamine from the anticipation of the next story or short video. It gets we don't even really need the next video, just the anticipation is enough to reward us with more dopamine.
I've read doing a simple reverse mental countdown of 5-4-3-2-1 blast off helps us switch gears from another part of the brain. It can also help us get out of bed or off the couch.
Yes I see never seen them in BC. I think Alberta in the 80s is the first place I saw them as a kid. It was trippy as milk was in cartons or cans (Pacific Condensed Milk) but never bags. I found it messy...
I just shutdown now and I'm running Linux Mint on older Lenovos with S3. I tried to add old S3 sleep manually in Mint but it never quite worked right and at times the laptop actually froze instead of sleeping with the CPU on and the fans running.
I just go to shutdown instead. It's annoying as the idea of instant resume when opening the laptop would be great but I also don't wanted a cooked CPU with a dead battery.
Unfortunately when it comes to medical experts, many ignore them and listen to their aunt with the healing crystals, or their buddy that skipped most of his high school science classes to go smoke behind the school instead...
Same here, but after reading those losing access to digital purchases as the rights for the properties change vendors, for those that want to truly own the thing, they can no matter where they live.
I would say now do the Google Play Gift card scam where buyers cannot redeem the cards in Google's automated systems, and the buyer is not allowed to return the card either so the money is kept by Google forever...
The call is coming from inside the house...
