Oh for fuck sake is this another thing you have to wear a mask for?
My fucking dad I swear to god. He knows I got asthma. He had me install insulation as a kid and remove asbestos. I got fucking tinnitus from him giving me a drill and neither of us wearing hearing protection.
I haven't heard anything for a while and I was just asking for an update if anyone knows anything.
It seemed to me they changed something to cause those vibrations/oscillations so to fix it they could just change it back. Like to me it seems solvable.
But in regards to the reusability of the heat shield, I haven't heard of any progress? So wouldn't it still be regarded as the biggest issue?
Thank you. I didnt know about lenovo so that's good to know.
System76 seems especially out of my price range. I haven't bought a computer for 12 years, can't believe laptop's cost more now (even accounting for inflation) than they did back then. It's unbelievable. Might have to work out if I want a good one to last a long time (which is risky) or to get a cheaper one and expect to replace earlier.
Family still means something because the definition is limited.
Community is dead and the reason for that is community is exclusive, by necessity it has to have people in the community and people outside the community.
People can't stand not being involved so they force they way in shit all over the floor ruin it and then suddenly the community is dead.
I want to get into Linux and I need a new laptop. I'm happy to go secondhand but I actually want a half decent thing that can play some games, not the cheapest box I can put Linux on and use fake word.
Am I best off just buying a new windows laptop than I can dual boot? Or any other suggestions?
Windows is US$ 139.00. So I figured if I buy a laptop without windows it will be 139 less but I guess manufacturers get windows for like $20 so there are no saving anyway.
Edit:should probably add I'm from to UK I that's relevant
Could have let to a real weird outcome. Would have destroyed the UK, slowed down the Manhattan project. Given Germany more resources against the Russians.
Next thing you know there V2 nuclear rockets being launched from sub's hitting all the costal cities of the US.
Fuck the Tankies fuck communism entirely, I just got back from Cambodia, got an economics degree and like capitalism, China's a bunch of dickheads.
BYD is going to change the world.
It's the classic incumbents move slow into new tech. Added with government investment, low labour costs, access to raw materials/adjacent industries, hungry growth focused companies, semi crazy workforce.
I haven't drove a BYD or even a electric car for that matter but reading the stats things are going to move fast and the rate they move is going to increase. I can see all the west companies largely losing their overseas market, other than luxury, inside cities. The world's moved on and people don't realise.
My view is it's pure hypeware until proven otherwise.
This isn't Tesla hate from my side either. The general consensus from enthusiasts since the beginning is Tesla is way off the mark. But the latest self driving upgrades using more LLM tech has apparently been a big step up. By that I mean going from poor assisted self driving to good assisted self driving. Getting it from there to no driver behind the wheel is another matter all together. Maybe they had a single jump or maybe it's a new path of consistent progress, I have no idea.
I'm not expecting much from Tesla. I would absolutely love to be wrong.
Expecting more from baidu, pony.ai and zoox more than Tesla. Hell even BYD with the Chinese backing it has might beat Tesla.
Was hoping at this point in time Waymo would be expanding more aggressively.
But no one else seems immediately on the horizon and Waymo is consistently expanding well so they are doing very well indeed.
I'm excited for the last mile problem to be solved and be able to cycle on roads without drivers that actually wish I was dead or playing about on their phone. Also I hate driving.
I'm American. I got 80% on my IQ test am I dumb? That's a GPA of 3.0.
