While I agree with you that independent verification is mandatory in situations like this, I also believe that once you get that verification, your position will not change. You have only given yourself a 1% chance of changing your stance, which means, in my opinion, that the only refuge you are offering yourself is conspiracism if and when you are proven wrong.
I suspect the conspiracy will be "Israel killed the hostages themselves."
I never said being Jewish was a requirement. But it's a political action committee representing the interests of Jewish-Americans.
And by the application of US law, and AIPAC's observing of US law, it is an American organization. You can disagree, but you are literally arguing against US law here, not me or my opinion. It is your opinion that is not reflected by reality here. Which you are American as well, you are allowed to hold these opinions and in many ways I would agree the law is wrong here, but facts are facts, and they say you are wrong.
Given the context that you are responding to a previous conversation, arguing with me doesn't really make sense unless you were defending the other position.
So if you aren't defending them, what is it that you are trying to do?
AiPAC is American through, as are its members... who are Jewish.
We gotta be careful when we start saying politically organized minorities who hold citizenship aren't American enough. It doesn't sound good, and maybe you aren't intending that, but that is how it comes off.
If you scroll up you will see the other person referred to AIPAC as the Israeli government and claimed they were funding the whole operation.
I pointed out that what they were saying was incorrect. It appears you and i are in agreement here and your comment was meant for the person you thought you were defending.
So you entered a conversation by pretending I said something I didn't and when told thats what you were doing, you decided that meant I don't know what lobbying meant.
It's good to see you are up to the same bad faith tricks you have been since I arrived here, June of last year. Never change, my friend, though that goes without saying, since you clearly never intend to.
So not only have you accused me of being brainwashed into holding antisemitic beliefs by some American Jews, you are now accusing those same 3 million American Jews of holding allegiance to a foreign government over their own nation.
