Honestly, blahaj also seems to have a lot of deranged people. A lot of great people too, but with my instance defederating from Hexbear and lemmygrad, when I see those kinda of comments it's usually blahaj.

They aren't as bad though of course. It's bearable.

Oh, people do say that but maybe it has to do with the straw quality? The ones I usually use are from McDonald's or Starbucks and those are fine. Unless you leave them there for a long time (1hour + maybe?).

I'm not US based so maybe in Europe they are sturdier? I dunno...

Nevermind, it seems the commenter above my initial comment is also based in Europe. Eastern Europe while I'm in Western Europe but it's Portugal so, essentially, eastern Europe.

When all this started about the straws I bought a set of metal straws too but I've never heard of collapsible metal straws. That could be a handy item to have on you

Yeah I see what you mean. I had to go on street view to get it. I hadn't even realised that it was an overpass lol. Thought it was just a road but even so, it would be a boring walk.

With the old layout you'd have a more pleasant one through the neighbourhood and such.

Also about my initial comment, even though the parks looked claustrophobic to me, I said it was likely the black and white colors messing it up for me, and yeah we're zoomed out a lot. Also, parks are almost never claustrophobic anyways, I just meant how it looked from above I guess.

I don't mind your guy's opinion at all, that was what I wanted to know when I left a comment. I even started by saying that I'm not even a local precisely because I wanted the locals opinions.

Indeed, but even within the city, I've seen places where the sidewalk just disappears.

Distances are absolutely massive in the US though, yeah...

Yeah, I sometimes complain about my country's public transportation but you guys have it worse...

I haven't checked the video yet (but I 100% will) but that's absolutely how I feel too. I'm from Europe and the big cities are usually easily navigated without a car. Smaller cities maybe not so much BUT, you can still kindof easily walk to ride a bike somewhere.

I'm always surprised when watching American movies that there's not sidewalk if you leave the city centers. That's is absolutely incomprehensible to me lol I can walk from my city to the next 3 or 4 neighboring cities all by walking and using the sidewalk.

I'm not American so I might not fully understand the repercussions of this. (houses being demolished and stuff)

But I honestly prefer the current version. It seems to have more green spaces. The highways could be shit, but if it meant better public transportation them I'm all for it (buses for instance). Maybe kill a few lanes and get a train going there or something...

I don't know, the old layout seems very claustrophobic to me. The newer one seems to have more potential.

Edit: Upon reviewing the picture again, I think the previous version had a lot of parks that seemed "claustrophobic" but it's just because it's a B&W picture... So maybe I'd change my mind and go with the older one.

Same, I usually don't really participate but I love seeing people discuss political opinions objectively and willing to learn.

The ragebait/sea lioning was getting too much. Eventually my mailbox was full of those trolls so I just went on a different instance that had both banned and I'm a lot happier. On the downside it's now closer to an echo chamber but I guess I'll just browse the memes and random crap then. I can work with that....

I use Firefox and also got that pop-up. Eventually I just grew tired of clicking the "X" button so I went on uBlock origin and added that stupid banner and the banner background to the blacklist.

It's like nothing ever happened. And if shit continues to get worse, either someone comes up with a fix somehow, or I'll just find a way to run ReVanced YouTube apk on my pc or something. I don't care if I have to emulate it somehow.

Also, on mobile GrayJay is a good alternative to ReVanced. Made by LouisRossmann's team apparently.

I agree. I really do want a framework thought, the fact that it's modular is so cool that it just makes me want to buy it... But the tech isn't quite there yet for my needs. Hopefully one day :)

Yep I moved from Oneplus to Xiaomi and I can't day I'm disappointed but I'm feeling they are charging more and more and then phones aren't getting that much better. I think my next phone will be a pixel. Mostly for the camera. As I'm getting older I notice that I don't use my phone for too much other than photos of traveling or just messaging my friends and family on WhatsApp. Games on phone are absolute cancer anyways...

Oh... You mean like buying it and using it as a modular desktop? That could be interesting but I don't know if it'll have the horse power I need anyways (for gaming). For a home server I bet it'll be more than enough.

Also, I travel with my laptop somewhat frequently so a desktop wouldn't be ideal (unfortunately. I prefer desktops over laptops)

It kind reminds me of the Oneplus brand. I loved the one plus (1) so I bought a Oneplus2 only for it to be put aside fairly quickly. I remember I used to suggest Oneplus to everybody, eventually I told everyone to stay away... Eventually the brand just lost it's focus imo... Instead trying to pump out as much overpriced garbage as possible...
