  • Just for clarification, were you able to read the card from this machine before?

I had a similar issue where my SD card reader was not able to read a card with a newer standard like SDXC or whatever it was and i had to find a newer reader.

  • Such a surprisingly good show. I expected just a complete clown show but most of of the episodes are well written and the characters actually do grow over time. I love how Boimler has a nerdgasm at the mention of anyone from TNG, DS9, or Voyager. Even the intro theme really fits the vibe of TNG and i watch it every time. Them noping out of the borg fight cracks me up every time. I use arch btw.

  • The only thing to fear from AI is bots like OP clogging up my feed with nonsense. They're embracing AI, they can make speech more natural, generate zillions of textures for terrain or clothes or particle effects. Maybe they'll even start to generate sounds so the hack n slash is not the exact same noise. They can even let AI create side quests or random events that don't feel forced. I use arch btw.

  • I'm using the official dock and i have not had anything like that happen yet, though i'm only driving one display. There was a good article a while back about USB-C docks and funky implementation decisions that cause weird drops, like using DP to hdmi chips that overheat. Let me see if i can find it.

  • Well, you're free to do what you want with the code, including throwing shade at folks that make windows less miserable to use.

Since there are things like notepadqq and any number of editors out there i don't blame them for not burning even more of their free time on systems that already have plenty of support.

  • powershell is pretty great for windows tbh. I use arch and i love python and shell scripts but on windows powershell gets shit done. PS is great for vmware too. There's a lot of 'microsoft bad' that i agree with but powershell is not one of them.

  • Yeah, until they get significantly better i don't see professionals using anything other than autocad or civil3d. Maybe if governments required dxf instead of dwg for deliverables, but even then, until the alternatives offer a better experience i don't see anything changing.

  • my conspiracy theory is dopamine addiction. The price of everything goes up way faster than the things that entertain us. I think this is intentional, they stopped giving bread but keep up the circus.

  • This is just weird to me, i don't expect to see stars in a city, even before the lights were LED. They're saying the blue light scatters more and that's a problem but if the entire point of the street light is public safety then more light information is a good thing. The cities probably need new studies and information about lumens per square foot though because they're probably working off of old studies with redder light and they could probably lower the intensity and still get the same amount of light information.

  • Based on your needs any distro is probably fine. They're pretty much all free, i don't think you'll find a better answer from internet randos than just booting from live usb and trying them out. I use arch btw.
